Norsk Hydro ASA

Brandtzæg started his career as Project Manager in the ÅSV Group before joining Hydro at Karmøy in 1986. In subsequent years he held various positions within Hydro's aluminium business, including Cathode Workshop Manager, Human Resources Training and Education Manager, Technical Manager and Casthouse and Marketing Manager. In 1998-1999 he was Vice President Casthouses before serving as head of Magnesium in 2000-2001. During the period 2002-2003 he was head of Metal Products and in 2003-2006 head of Rolled Products. From 2006 to March 2009, Brandtzæg was responsible for the Aluminium Products business area with more than 16,000 employees in the sectors Rolled Products, Extrusion Eurasia, Extrusion Americas, Precision Tubing and the business unit Automotive Structures. Born in Haugesund, Norway in 1957, Brandtzæg graduated from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). He holds an economics degree from the Norwegian School of Management and a PhD from NTNU.

Rostrup became head of Hydro's Energy business area in October 2007. At the same time he joined Hydro’s corporate management board with overall responsibility for the company's energy agenda, including power production facilities. Prior to that he was head of Oil & Energy Markets, in charge of oil, gas and power sales. Since joining Hydro in 1991, he has held a number of management positions in energy, finance and international business development in Norway, the United States and Singapore. Jørgen C. Arentz Rostrup, born 1966, holds a Master’s degree from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) in Bergen.

Harris is responsible for human resources and organizational development as well as health, security, safety and environment. Since Harris joined Hydro in 2001, she has held several positions within finance. In 2004 she was appointed head of Corporate Financial Reporting and Performance. From 1997 to 2000 she was Administration & Personnel Manager in the oil company Total Norge. Before that, she held various positions within finance, controlling and accounting in the same company. Anne Harris has a Master’s degree from the Norwegian School of Management. She is born in 1960 in Drammen, Norway, and is married.

In addition to Corporate Strategy and Business Development, Moss is responsible for Hydro's solar energy area. Moss came to Hydro in 1991 and has held several senior management positions within the company's aluminium business area, among them as President of Automotive Structures in 1996-2001 and President of the Metal Products sector in 2004-2006. Over the years he has also been responsible for strategy and business development in the aluminium area as well as on corporate level. He was project leader for the process that ended up in the oil and gas merger agreement with Statoil in December 2006. In 1989-1990 Moss was State Secretary and Chief of Staff at the Norwegian Prime Minister's office. Arvid Moss, born 1958, is graduated at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration.

Prior to Hydro's reorganization of business areas in March 2009, Hilde Merete Aasheim served as Executive Vice President for the Aluminium Metal business area since November 2008. Aasheim joined Hydro in October 2005 as Executive Vice President for Leadership and Culture (human resources, health, environment, safety and corporate social responsibility). When Hydro's oil and gas activities were merged with Statoil in October 2007, she became executive vice president of staff functions and corporate services in StatoilHydro. From 1986 to 2005 she held several senior positions in Elkem. In 2002 she was head of Elkem's Silicon division and member of the corporate management board. Aasheim has a master's degree in business economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen and is also a state authorized public accountant. Aasheim has also work experience from Arthur Andersen & Co. She has been a member of the board in Veidekke ASA since 1999. Hilde Merete Aasheim was born in 1958 in Larvik, Norway. She is married and has two children.

As head of Extruded Products, Undeli is responsible for aluminium extrusion activities with more than 11,000 employees in the sectors Automotive, Building Systems, Extrusion Americas and Extrusion Eurasia. Undeli began his career in 1977 with the French petroleum company Total, where he worked for six years in the United Kingdom, before joining Hydro's Oil & Energy Division. In 1989, he moved to Hydro's aluminium operations, where he has been active for more than 20 years in various operational and managerial positions both in Norway and in Switzerland, primarily in the area of extruded aluminium products. Among these roles, he has served as chairman for several of Hydro's extrusion plants and units in Europe, and has led the company's extrusion activities in Europe and Asia since September 2006. Born in 1953 in Gjøvik, Norway, Undeli graduated from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology with a Master of Science degree in petroleum technology.

Before joining the Corporate Managment Board in April 2007, Biller was head of Hydro's Corporate Legal Department from 1993 to 2007, vice president of the Law Department from 1986 to 1993 and company lawyer from 1980 to 1986. From 1979 to 1980 he was division head in the Norwegian Ministry of Finance, after being ministry consultant from 1973 to 1979. Odd Ivar Biller, born 1949, has a Master's degree of International and Comparative Law from Brussels in 1974 and a Bachelor of Law ("Cand. jur.") from the University of Oslo in 1973.

Ola Sæter is head of Hydro's Energy business area and has been a Corporate Management Board member since May 1, 2009. Before that he was responsible for the power portfolio and trading activities within the Energy business area. Ola Sæter, born in 1960, has been with Hydro since 1983 and has held several management positions within the company’s oil and energy businesses

Røtjer is responsible for Hydro’s project organization, including construction of the metal plant Qatalum in Qatar. He has held a large variety of management positions in Hydro since 1987, covering different areas of development projects. From 1995 to 1998 he was project director for the Njord Field Development on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and was appointed head of Hydro Technology & Projects. In 2004 he became project director for the Ormen Lange and Langeled subsea gas development projects in the Norwegian Sea. Tom Røtjer, born 1953, holds a Master's degree in mechanical engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology. He is married and has two children.

Grete Faremo (1955), Oslo, has been deputy chairperson of the the Board since November 2007. She is an independent business woman and has a Master's degree in law from the University of Oslo. Faremo was Director for Legal and Corporate Affairs in Microsoft until 2008 and executive Vice President of Storebrand Insurance Company from 1997 to 2003. Faremo has held a range of political positions for the Norwegian Labour Party. She was an elected member of Stortinget, the Norwegian Parliament, from 1993 to 1997. In 1996 she was minister of oil and energy, and from 1992 to 1996 she was minister of justice. From 1990 to 1992 she was minister of international development. She currently chairs the board of Abelia, is deputy chairperson of the Norwegian Defence Research Estblishment and is board member of Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and Cowi AS.

Terje Vareberg (1948), Stavanger, has been managing director of Sparebank 1 SR-Bank since 1999. He is a graduate of the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration. He worked for the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Petroleum before joining the refining and marketing division of Statoil, where he remained from 1979 to 1983. He was managing director of Agro Fellesslakteri from 1983 to 1989, before returning to Statoil, where he was executive vice president and a member of corporate management from 1989 to 1999. Vareberg has held a number of board positions in Norwegian industry and currently sits on the board of Sparebank 1 Gruppen, as well as being chair of the Norwegian Savings Bank Association.

Bente Rathe (1954), Trondheim, is an independent businesswoman. She is Master of Science in business from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) and holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver. Rathe started her career with E.A.Smith A/S of Trondheim, where she advanced to become deputy chief executive officer and director of finance. During the period from 1989 to 2002 she was part of of the corporate management of Forenede Forsikring – the Gjensidige group and Gjensidige NOR, most recently as deputy CEO. She has held a number of board appointments in Norwegian industrial and financial enterprises, among them chair of the board of Petoro and member of the boards of Veritas and Statoil. She is currently chair of the board of Powel ASA and board member of Kongsberg Automotive ASA and Svenska Handelsbanken AB.

Billy Fredagsvik (1956), Høyanger, is a full-time union official at Hydro Høyanger, representing the members of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO). He has long experience as a process operator. From 2005 to 2007 he was a member of the Corporate Assembly. He is educated in mechanics from a trade school.

Finn Jebsen (1950), Oslo, is an independent businessman. He is Master of Science in business from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) and holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles. He was employed by the Orkla group from 1980 onwards, becoming a member of the group’s main management team in 1984. Jebsen was CEO of Orkla from 2001 to 2005. He is currently chair of the boards of Kongsberg Gruppen ASA, and Kavli Holding AS, and deputy chair of KLP Forsikring. He is also board member in A Wilhelmensen Management AS, Berner Group AS and his wholly-owned company Fateburet AS.

Heidi M. Petersen (1958), Sandefjord, is an independent businesswoman. She holds a cand. scient. degree from the University of Trondheim (now NTNU). In the period from 2000 to July 2007 she was managing director of Future Engineering AS and Rambøll Oil & Gas AS, Sandefjord (Future was sold to Rambøll Gruppen A/S in 2004). Petersen was employed in Kværner Oil & Gas from 1988 where she worked as an engineer, project manager and departmental manager engaged on offshore and land-based industrial assignments, until she became head of Kværner Oil & Gas AS in Sandefjord in 1997. Here she headed a management buy-out that led to the start-up of Future Engineering in 2000. Petersen has varied board experience of industrial, oil and gas-based operations, as well as of energy supply and financial enterprises. She currently chairs the board of Sandefjord Airport and is a member of the boards of Glamox ASA, Nordea AB and Noreco ASA.

Inge K. Hansen (1946), Oslo, is currently an independent adviser. He is a Master of Science in business from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH). Hansen has held several distinguished positions in a long business career, such as CFO and acting CEO of Statoil, and as CEO of Aker Kværner. Hansen currently chairs the boards of Avinor, the Norwegian School of Management (BI), Norsun AS, Gjensidige Forsikring BA and Norwind AS, and is a board member in Jiffy International AS.

Jørn B. Lilleby (1952), Sunndalsøra, is a full time union official in Hydro and an employee represetative in the Board representing the Central Cooperative Council (Sentralt Samarbeidsråd). He is Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology. Lilleby is employed in Hydro as a Maintenance Supervisor. He chairs the board of the community of interest ENGN Grimsmoen airfield and is a board member in Ottem Transport and Ottem Resirk.

Sten Roar Martinsen (1962), Kopervik, is a full-time union official representing the members of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO). He has a certificate of apprenticeship in electrochemistry and has undergone work supervisor training. Martinsen is employed in Hydro as a process operator.
