North Akron Savings Bank was established in 1921 as the North Hill Savings & Loan Company and set up business at Chalker's Landing in the North Hill area of Akron, Ohio. In 1926 it moved down the street to 729 North Main, and in 1951 it moved to its current location on Cuyahoga Falls Avenue. Bank leadership at that time included Dan A. Scanlon, William T. Flower, James A. Ensign, Harold A. Vaughn, W. Boyd Huff, C. Emerson Carter, and John McIntosh. Shortly after its final relocation, the company changed its name to North Akron Savings Association, and in 1997, changed its name to North Akron Savings Bank. Akron's North Hill area has gradually transformed from primarily an Italian community to become a microcosm of the city where a variety of persons work and live. The bank has also transformed through the years and now boasts four offices and a customer service center in Summit County. Our employees take pride in belonging to a locally owned company and actively participate in community organizations and events to facilitate the healthy development and growth of our community.
