Edward J. Zore is President and Chief Executive Officer of Northwestern Mutual, the largest direct provider of individual life insurance with over $950 billion of individual life insurance in force and assets of more than $137 billion. He joined Northwestern Mutual's Investment Department in 1969 and held various investment positions over the next 28 years. He served as chief investment officer from 1990 to 1998 and chief financial officer from 1995 to 1998. In 1998 Zore moved from the investment area to lead the company's life and disability income insurance operations. He was elected to the company's board of trustees effective February 1, 2000 and became the 16th president in the history of Northwestern Mutual on March 31, 2000. He was named chief executive officer on June 1, 2001. Ed Zore is a director of Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company , Northwestern Investment Management Company, Northwestern Long Term Care Insurance Company, Northwestern International Holdings, Inc., Northwestern Mutual Series Fund, and the Northwestern Mutual Foundation. Zore also serves on the board of directors of the Russell Investment Group, Tacoma, Washington, a subsidiary of Northwestern Mutual. Outside Northwestern Mutual, Zore is a member of the board of directors of Manpower Inc. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In the insurance industry, Zore is former chairman of the board of the American Council of Life Insurers. He is also a member of the Business Round Table, the Conference Board, the Advisory Board of The American College Center for Ethics in Financial Services, and the Advisory Board of the Yale Center for Corporate Governance and Performance. Zore is actively involved in the Milwaukee community. He is a board member of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Inc., Competitive Wisconsin, Froedtert Health System, Greater Milwaukee Committee, Medical College of Wisconsin, Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, Milwaukee affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., United Performing Arts Fund, United Way, Wisconsin Policy Research Institute, and the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee. Born in Milwaukee in 1945, Zore received his B.S. and M.S. in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

David Lubar is president of Lubar & Co., a Milwaukee based private investment firm founded in 1977 whose investment activities include acquisitions of middle market operating companies as well as growth financings for emerging businesses. Over the past 20 years, Lubar has invested in companies in a wide range of industries and various stages of development, including food production and processing, industrial products manufacturing, transportation, construction services, energy services and equipment, and others. David received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College and an MBA from the University of Minnesota. He is active on the Boards of Directors of numerous for profit and not-for-profit organizations.

PATRICIA ALBJERG GRAHAM, 70, joined the Company Warren Research Professor of the History of American Education at Harvard University. Dr. Graham joined the faculty of Harvard Graduate School of Education in 1974, and was its dean from 1982 to 1991. From 1991 to 2000, she served as president of the Spencer Foundation, which supports research into educational improvement. Dr. Graham is also a director of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, as well as a director of Rural School Community Trust, the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences, Central European University, the Higher Education Support Sub-Board of the Open Society Institute, and the Josiah Macy, Jr. Foundation.

PATRICIA ALBJERG GRAHAM, 72, joined the company’s board of directors in September 2002. She is the Charles Warren Professor of the History of Education Emerita at Harvard University. Dr. Graham joined the faculty of Harvard Graduate School of Education in 1974, and was its dean from 1982 to 1991. From 1991 to 2000, she served as president of the Spencer Foundation, which supports research into educational improvement. Dr. Graham is a director of Rural School Community Trust, Central European University, the Higher Education Support Sub-Board of the Open Society Institute, The Fund for Teachers, a Texas nonprofit corporation, Smolny College of St. Petersburg State University, Russia, and the Josiah Macy, Jr. Foundation. At Apache, she is a member of the corporate governance and nominating committee. She has been a director since 2002.
