The technology behind the disposable cup! NOVA Chemicals Corporation (NYSE: NCX; Toronto: NCX), based in Calgary, AB, Canada, is engaged in the production and marketing of plastics and chemicals. It makes ethylene and polyethylene, styrene, and styrenic polymers used in the manufacture of plastic and foam products for consumer and industrial users. It operates two businesses: olefins/polyolefins and styrenics. Its polystyrene products are used by the food service industry to make disposable foam cups, plates, and bowls. Founded in 1954, it has revenue of $5.6 billion and employs about 4,100 people. NOVA and GRUPO IDESA formed a 50:50 joint venture in Mexico, called NOVIDESA, SA de CV effective October 1, 2005.
