Keith C. Valentine has served as our President and Chief Operating Officer since January 2007. Between December 2004 and January 2007, he served as our President, and between January 2002 and December 2004, he served as our Executive Vice President. Prior to that, he served as our Sr. Vice President of Marketing and Development. With over 15 years of experience in the orthopaedic industry, Mr. Valentine has served as Vice President of Marketing at ORATEC Interventions, Inc., a medical device company which was later acquired by Smith & Nephew plc. and served in various capacities at Medtronic Sofamor Danek during his eight years with the company, including Vice President of Marketing for the Rods Division and Group Director for the BMP Biologics program, the Interbody Sales Development effort and International Sales and Marketing. Mr. Valentine received a B.B.A. in Management and Biomedical Sciences from Western Michigan University.

Jonathan D. Spangler has served as our Vice President since December 2004 and as our Chief Patent Counsel and Group Director of Intellectual Property since September 2001. Prior to joining NuVasive, Mr. Spangler served as Chief Patent Counsel for A-Med Systems, Inc., a medical technology company. Prior to that, he practiced law at Arnold White & Durkee, specializing in patent and trade secret litigation involving medical devices, and at Haugen & Nikolai, specializing in patent prosecution involving medical devices. He also worked at the United States Patent Office, where he examined patent applications and graduated from the Patent Academy. Mr. Spangler received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering (with a minor in Electrical Engineering) from Marquette University, and a J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law. He is licensed to practice in California, Minnesota, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Kevin C. O'Boyle has served as our Chief Financial Officer since January 2003 and our Executive Vice President since December 2004. Mr. O’Boyle served in various positions during his six years with ChromaVision Medical Systems, Inc., a publicly traded medical device firm specializing in the oncology market, including as its Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Also, Mr. O’Boyle held various positions during his seven years with Albert Fisher North America, Inc., a publicly traded international food company, including Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Operations. Mr. O’Boyle received a B.S. in Accounting from the Rochester Institute of Technology and successfully completed the Executive Management Program at the University of California at Los Angeles, John E. Anderson Graduate Business School.

Kevin C. O Boyle has served as our Chief Financial Officer since January 2003 and our Executive Vice President since December 2004. Mr. O Boyle served in various positions during his six years with ChromaVision Medical Systems, Inc., a publicly traded medical device firm specializing in the oncology market, including as its Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Also, Mr. O Boyle held various positions during his seven years with Albert Fisher North America, Inc., a publicly traded international food company, including Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Operations. Mr. O Boyle is a CPA and received a B.S. in Accounting from the Rochester Institute of Technology and successfully completed the Executive Management Program at the University of California at Los Angeles, John E. Anderson Graduate Business School.

Patrick Miles has served as our Executive Vice President, Product Marketing and Development since January 2007. Prior to that, he served as our Senior Vice President of Marketing from December 2004 to January 2007, and as our Vice President, Marketing from January 2001 to December 2004. Mr. Miles has over 15 years of experience in the orthopaedic industry. Mr. Miles has also served as Director of Marketing for ORATEC Interventions, Inc., a medical device company and as a Director of Marketing for Minimally Invasive Systems and Cervical Spine Systems for Medtronic Sofamor Danek, as well as serving in several positions with Smith & Nephew. Mr. Miles received a B.S. in Finance from Mercer University.

Jason M. Hannon has served as our Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, General Counsel and Secretary since January 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Hannon served as our Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary, and as our Vice President of Legal Affairs and Secretary from June 2005 to January 2009. Prior to joining NuVasive, Mr. Hannon practiced corporate and transactional law at the law firms of Brobeck Phleger & Harrison LLP and Heller Ehrman LLP, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, public and private financing, joint ventures, licensing arrangements, and corporate governance matters. Mr. Hannon also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jerome Farris of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Hannon received a B.A. degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.

Jeffrey P. Rydin has served as our Senior Vice President, U.S. Sales since December 2005. Prior to joining us, from January 2003 to December 2005, Mr. Rydin served as Area Vice President of Orthobiologics for DePuy Spine, Inc., a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. With nearly 20 years of sales experience in the healthcare industry, Mr. Rydin has also served as Vice President of Sales at Orquest, Inc., a developer of biologically-based implants for orthopaedics and spine surgery, which was acquired by DePuy, as Director of Sales at Symphonix Devices, Inc., a hearing technology company, and as Director of Sales at General Surgical Innovations, Inc., a developer, manufacturer and marketer of tissue dissection systems for minimally invasive surgical procedures, which was acquired by Tyco International Ltd. Mr. Rydin holds a B.A. in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine.

Dr. Cornwall has served as Senior Vice President of Research & Clinical Resources since June 2008. From January 2004 until June 2008, he served as Vice President of Research & Development and, from 1999 to 2000, he managed NuVasive’s research efforts. Dr. Cornwall has been working in the medical device industry for more than 12 years and has been responsible for leading research and development teams in the development and testing of proprietary spinal treatment modalities with minimally invasive approaches, spinal fusion constructs, novel resorbable polymer implants, and new fracture fixation devices. Prior to rejoining NuVasive, Dr. Cornwall was with MacroPore Biosurgery for four years, most recently acting as Vice President of Research & Technology. Prior to joining NuVasive, Dr. Cornwall was with Johnson & Johnson’s trauma division, DePuy-ACE. Dr. Cornwall’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering, a Masters of Applied Science in Material Science, and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Orthopaedic Biomechanics from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He is the author of 15 peer-reviewed publications, 4 book chapters and 9 US patents.

Lisa K. Brockman has served as our Vice President of Accounting since January 2007 and served as our Group Director of Accounting from July 2005 through December 2006. From January 2001 to April 2005, she served as Assistant Corporate Controller and Director of Reporting and Research for Synopsys, Inc., a software company focused on electronic design automation. From January 1988 to December 2000, she served in various positions with Ernst & Young LLP, most recently as Senior Manager. Ms. Brockman is a certified public accountant and earned a B.A. in accounting from San Diego State University.

Roger D. Yapp has served as our Area Vice President, Central since January 2009. Since joining NuVasive in September 2005, Mr. Yapp has served in various capacities, including most recently as our Sales Director, Great Lakes and prior to that as our Area Business Manager for Chicago. In his 20 year career in sales, with over 15 years in orthopaedic sales, Mr. Yapp has served in several positions of sales management, including positions at Kyphon Inc. and at Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a Johnson & Johnson Company. Mr. Yapp received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from University of Georgia.

Suzanne M. Piche has served as our Vice President, Human Resources, since February 2009. Prior to joining NuVasive, Ms. Piche served as the Senior Vice President, Human Resources at ChartOne, Inc., a leader in medical records workflow technology. Prior to that, she provided human resources leadership to Maine Veteransa Homes, a provider of long-term and rehabilitative care. Ms. Piche has over 23 years experience in human resources management, with 20 years as a senior human resources executive, primarily in the healthcare services field. Ms. Piche received a Mastera s degree in Business Administration from Western New England College, Massachusetts and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Westfield State College, Massachusetts.

Albert Pothier has served as our Vice President, NeuroVision, a position responsible for the marketing and product development groups for our NeuroVision product line, since January 2008. Mr. Pothier originally joined NuVasive in April 2005 and has served as our Director and Group Director of Marketing, NeuroVision. In his over 15 year career in the orthopaedic industry, Mr. Pothier also worked in various positions in the marketing and development areas at Smith & Nephew, including Director of Marketing, Computer Assisted Surgery and Director of Market Development. Prior to entering the medical device field, Mr. Pothier was with the software start-up RTIS, Corp. where he held the position of Vice President of Operations. Mr. Pothier received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA from Christian Brothers University.

Christian Woelk is a nationally certified Rahini Yoga Instructor with the New York Wellness Institute and is also a registered Kundalini yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. He has studied directly with the creator of Rahini Yoga, Dr. Dean Telano ND, PhD, MS, CNC, RYT, as well as with Gururattan Kaur Khalsa PhD, a direct disciple of Yogi Bhajan for 26 years and author of the four original Kundalini Yoga Manuals both teachers being shining lights and pioneers in their field of health, wellness, and happiness. Christian is also a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and is a nationally certified Personal Fitness Trainer with the American Council on Exercise. Christian develops and coordinates corporate wellness programs and is currently working with the company Nuvasive, a spinal technology company in La Jolla. Christian is the creator and director of the Rahini Yoga Space in Hillcrest and is a resident yoga teacher and fitness trainer for the Loews Coronado Resort. Christian is also creator and director for the San Diego Wellness Source, a resource for alternative and gifted health care practitioners who integrate eastern and western philosophy into their practices. He also maintains private clientele in the San Diego area.

Larry Butler has served as our Area Vice President, Northeast since January 2009.A Since joining NuVasive in March 2001, Mr. Butler has served in several capacities, including most recently as our Senior Director, Sales, Midwest and prior to that as our Regional Sales Director and Clinical Spine Specialist.A Mr. Butler has over 20 years experience in orthopaedic sales, including 15 years in sales management. Prior to joining NuVasive, Mr. Butler served as Area Sales Manager for Oratec Interventions, Inc., a medical device company. He also worked with Mitek Surgical Products as one of the first senior managers to hire and develop their direct sales force in the Midwest.A Mr. Butler also served in a sales capacity for 5 years with Zimmer Orthopedics.A He received a BA in Economics from Virginia Military Institute.

Rich Mueller has served as our Vice President of Product Development since January 2008.A Joining NuVasive in 2005, Mr. Mueller has served as our Director and most recently as Senior Director of Product Development. Prior to NuVasive, Mr. Mueller served as Director of Product Development at Theken Spine (currently Integra Spine), for the previous 5 years. In his over 15 year career in the health care industry, Mr. Mueller also served in a variety of Product Development capacities with Volk Optical, Procter & Gamble Company, and AcroMed Corporation (currently DePuy Spine). Mr. Mueller received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a biomechanics focus, from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH.

Robert J. Hunt has served as a member of our Board of Directors since January 2005. Mr. Hunt is the co-founder of the Mercury Investment Group, an investment advisory firm established in 2002. Mr. Hunt also oversaw the finance team at AutoZone, Inc., for eight years, serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and director. Mr. Hunt previously held senior financial management positions at The Price Company, Malone & Hyde, Inc. and PepsiCo, Inc. He has also served as a director of SCB Computer Technology, Inc. Mr. Hunt holds bachelor and masters degrees from Columbia University and is a certified public accountant.

Scott Durall has served as our Area Vice President, South, since January 2009.A From 2008 until 2009 Mr. Durall served as our Director, Sales, South.A Prior to joining NuVasive,A in a nearly 10 year career with the company, Mr. Durall was aA Director of Corporate Sales & National AccountsA at Boston Scientific Corporation. Mr. Durall has also served with Power Medical Interventions and United States Surgical Corporation, where he successfullyA earnedA regional, divisional, and corporate sales management positions. Mr. DurallA received a B.B.A. degree in Marketing from the University of Kentucky.

Terry Rich has served as our Area Vice President, West since January 2009. Since joining NuVasive in December 2005, Mr. Rich has served most recently as Director, Sales, Northwest and prior to that as an Area Business Manager. With nearly 20 years of experience in sales, Mr. Rich has served as Distributorship Sales Manager for DePuy Spine and has also held positions at Regent Medical and at Owens & Minor. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Labor Relations from Rutgers University.

Tyler Lipschultz has served as our Senior Vice President, Biologics, since June 2008. Prior to joining NuVasive, Mr. Lipschultz was a Director at ProtoStar, a medical device incubator that formed Annulex, CVRx, and VERTx, which he co-founded. VERTx merged with Spine Wave in 2002 where Mr. Lipschultz subsequently served in a variety of roles at Spine Wave including Executive Vice President and General Manager of the mechanical business. Prior to ProtoStar, Mr. Lipschultz also held the position of Equity Research Analyst at Piper Jaffray and served in various marketing/product management roles at Stryker, Smith & Nephew and DePuy. Mr. Lipschultz has 20 years of orthopedic and spine experience. Mr. Lipschultz received his BA in Economics and Business Administration from Kalamazoo College and his MBA from the Executive Program at Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.

Eileen M. More has served as a member of our Board of Directors since June 2007. Ms. More was a General Partner at Oak Investments, one of the largest venture capital funds in the United States, for over 20 years. Ms. More founded Oak’s healthcare investment practice, and was also an active investor in information technology, with early stage investments in dozens of successful healthcare and technology companies. Her investments include leadership roles with Genzyme Corporation, Alexion Pharmaceuticals, OraPharma, Inc., Osteotech, Inc. and Compaq Computer. Ms. More retired from Oak in 2002, but continues to serve on several boards. She currently serves on the board of directors of KBL Healthcare Acquisition Corp. III, a publicly owned blank check corporation. Ms. More is Chairman Emeritus of the Connecticut Venture Group and a board member of the University of Connecticut Research and Development Corporation. Ms. More attended the University of Bridgeport and has been awarded a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter.

Mr. Blair has been a General Partner of Domain Associates since its founding in 1985. He has over thirty years experience with venture and emerging growth companies. In the course of this experience, he has been involved with the creation and successful development as a board member of over forty life science ventures including Amgen, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Applied Biosystems, Aurora Biosciences, Dura Pharmaceuticals, Sicor, and Molecular Dynamics. A former Managing Director of Rothschild Inc., Mr. Blair was directly involved at a senior level with Rothschild/New Court venture capital activities from 1978 to 1985. From 1969 to 1978, he was associated with F.S. Smithers and Company, and White Weld and Company, two investment banking firms actively involved with new ventures and emerging growth companies. From 1961 to 1969, Mr. Blair was an engineering manager with RCA during which time he received a David Sarnoff Fellowship. Mr. Blair is presently an Advisor to the Department of Molecular Biology at Princeton University, an Advisor to the Department of BioEngineering at the University of Pennsylvania, and he also serves on the Board of Directors of CapCure.
