Nymex

Kenneth Shifrin is the Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Shifrin joined the Exchange in January 2004 as vice president of finance and most recently served as senior vice president of finance. Previously, he was global controller for two years at Electronic Broking Systems (EBS). Prior to EBS, he held several senior financial roles including chief financial officer of Gateway Logistics, Corp., and chief financial officer and vice president of finance for Hirsch International, Corp. Mr. Shifrin, who has more than 20 years of public and private accounting experience and an extensive background in company operations, also worked as a controller for National Business Products, Inc., and Career Employment Services, Inc. He holds a masters of business administration in accounting from Adelphi University, a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and he is a certified public accountant.

JOSEPH RAIA is senior vice president of marketing. He has more than 22 years of experience in the energy and transportation sectors and has held various positions in oil transportation and trading. Mr. Raia joined the Exchange in 2001 and successfully lead the marketing effort surrounding the launch of the NYMEX ClearPortsm trading and clearing platform. In 2004, the system was named New Energy Innovation of the Year EnergyRisk Magazine. Immediately prior to joining the Exchange, Mr. Raia was an energy industry consultant, most recently working for Aquila Energy in Kansas City. Earlier in his career, Mr. Raia was senior vice president of business development for JAGfn, a live financial news show, where he was responsible for arranging broadcast placement contracts with several large broadcast, satellite, and cable companies. He also served as senior on air energy analyst/anchor for JAGfn and reported on equities and commodities in the energy sector on air several times per hour, including interviewing chief executive officers, corporate officers, and financial analysts. Mr. Raia is a graduate of the New York Maritime Academy and sailed in the U.S. Merchant Marines, exclusively on oil tankers of all sizes, until 1988 when he received his U.S. Coast Guard master's license.

ROBERT A. LEVIN is the Senior Vice President of Research, and has held this position since 1993. He is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Exchange's business planning. Mr. Levin has been active in the development, maintenance, and refurbishing of all of the Exchange's energy contracts.

ROBERT HALPER is vice chairman of NYMEX Holdings, Inc., and the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. Mr. Halper previously served on the NYMEX board of directors from 2000 until 2001. He began his career in commodities as a floor clerk. He purchased a NYMEX Division membership in 1983 and began trading as a local in heating oil. Mr. Halper is the president and sole proprietor of HPR Commodities, a NYMEX Division member firm. Mr. Halper holds a bachelors degree in economics from the State University of New York at Binghamton.

Mr. Schaeffer was elected as a director of MX on March 13, 2007. Mr. Schaeffer has served as Chairman of the Board of NYMEX since 2006, prior to which he served as Vice-Chairman from 2004 until his election as Chairman in 2006. Mr. Schaeffer was the Treasurer of NYMEX from 1993 to 2004 and has served on the Executive Committee of NYMEX since 1992. Mr. Schaeffer has been a director of NYMEX since 1990 and an owner of a Class A membership in NYMEX Exchange since 1981. From 1997 to 2006, Mr. Schaeffer was an Executive Director of Global Energy Futures for ABN AMRO, Inc. From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Schaeffer had been a Senior Vice President/Director of the Chicago Corp., which was a clearing member of both the NYMEX Division and the COMEX Division, until its buyout by ABN AMRO, Inc. Mr. Schaeffer is a director of NYMEX Europe Exchange Holdings Limited and NYMEX Europe. Mr. Schaeffer is the Chairman of the NYMEX Charitable Foundation. Mr. Schaeffer also serves as a member of the board of directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
