Carl is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and obtained an honors degree in Mathematics with Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
Chris joined Hudson in 2002 as Chief Underwriting Officer. Chris has over 20 years of extensive insurance and rensurance underwriting experience, including underwriting direct insurance programs. Jim has extensive financial and management experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry through his roles at OdysseyRe, as an independent auditor in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ insurance and reinsurance group for more than ten years and financial accounting roles at two reinsurance companies.

Rob joined Newline London in 2004 as a specialist Financial Institutions underwriter. In 2007, he relocated to Singapore to become Newline Asia’s Chief Underwriting Officer. Roger has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and earned his CPCU in 1987 and AFSB designation in 1999. Roger spends his autumn Saturdays rooting for his beloved Wolverines.

Olivier Massot joined OdysseyRe in 2000 as Director and Regional Manager of our Singapore Branch responsible for the underwriting and marketing of business in India, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines. Prior to joining the Company Olivier worked for SAFR in Paris. Olivier is a graduate from the Ecole de Geologie (ENSG) in Nancy and holds a Masters Degree in Geology and Engineering. He began his career with CCGC conducting seismic explorations around the world.
Robert joined OdysseyRe as Head of Claims for the London Market Division in October 2004 with 10 years experience in the insurance industry. Robert graduated from the University of Buckingham with a law degree and passed the Law Society Finals Examination and is an admitted solicitor. Robert also has four years experience practicing law in New York having passed the New York Bar Exam. His prior experience includes four years in private practice with both Lovells and Eversheds.
Tadashi has over 30 years underwriting and management experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, working for Yasuda Fire in Japan, London, and the United States. Tadashi joined OdysseyRe 2005 as Manager of OdysseyRe’s representative office in Tokyo.
Tadashi is responsible for the development of all OdysseyRe’s new business in Japan.
Adam joined NEWLINE in October 2005 as Senior Underwriter in the D&O Underwriting Unit. Previously Adam was Divisional Director at Willis Professional Risks in London and prior to that was Senior Underwriter with Chubb Insurance Company. Adam is a regular speaker at industry D&O conferences.
Andre joined Compagnie Transcontinentale de Reassurance (CTR) in 1987 and transferred to OdysseyRe in 1997. He has held numerous property underwriting positions within the Company's Paris, New York and Stamford offices. Andre moved to London in July 2000 to manage the Treaty Property Department of the OdysseyRe London Branch. Andre has a Masters in Private Law from the University of Assas, and a postgraduate degree from the Insurance Institute at La Sorbonne.
Andrew joined OdysseyRe in November of 2001. He has over 26 years of experience in the London Reinsurance Market as a broker, underwriter and outwards reinsurance manager. After serving four years with the property treaty team, Andrew is now responsible for managing the reinsurance international casualty treaty account at OdysseyRe’s London Branch.
Andrew is a keen golfer and can be found “treading the boards” for his local amateur dramatic society.
Christophe joined Compagnie Transcontinentale de Réassurance (CTR) in July 1997. He transferred to CTR’s Singapore Office in 1998 and joined OdysseyRe in 2000. Christophe returned to Paris in the role of Chief Actuary for the EuroAsia Division in 2001.
Christophe has an Actuarial Degree from the Institut de Science Financière et d'Assurances.
Claude joined Compagnie Transcontinentale de Réassurance (CTR) in 1980, and transferred to OdysseyRe in 2000. She has over 23 years reinsurance industry experience and currently is General Secretary for the EuroAsia Division.
Claude has an MA of Science from the University of Dijon.
Isabelle Dubots-Lafitte started her reinsurance career in 1989 as an Actuary at Compagnie Transcontinentale de Réassurance (CTR), and joined the Underwriting Department in 1992. Isabelle transferred to OdysseyRe in 2000 and is currently responsible for the underwriting and marketing of all treaty business within France.
Isabelle graduated from Statistic Institute of the Paris University (Pierre et Marie Curie) obtaining her diploma in Actuarial and Finance.
Martin is currently the Senior Underwriter for the Financial Institutions Division which comprises writing Bankers Bond, Commercial Crime, Professional Indemnity and Directors and Officers insurance for Financial Institutions worldwide. Martin has been with the Syndicate since 2001 and has been involved in the Financial Institutions market at Lloyd’s since 1990, primarily as an Underwriter but also as a broker for 4 years in the mid-90’s.
After deciding a career in insurance would be more exciting than being a ski instructor, Martin now spends weekends playing the odd round of golf in addition to spending time with his young family.
Martin has worked in the insurance industry since 1980 and has held underwriting positions with Commercial Union & Zurich. Prior to joining Newline, Martin worked as Casualty Manager for Gerling UK Branch.
Mike has been an underwriter of Marine & Aerospace in the London Market for more than 20 years. Mike joined OdysseyRe in 1998 from St. Paul Re and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Mike maintains his sanity by participating in battle reenactments for charitable organizations (which explains the gunpowder burns and bruising visible on Monday mornings.)
Peter joined Newline in 2006 as Senior Underwriter in charge of the medical malpractice portfolio. He brings with him more than 20 years' experience underwriting global medical malpractice risks from platforms in the United States, Bermuda and the UK. Prior to joining Newline, Peter was head of Endurance Worldwide Insurance London-based casualty treaty department. Peter holds a BA from Columbia University in New York, NY and an MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Chicago, IL.
Richard has 20 years experience in the London Insurance Market, predominately within the Lloyd’s environment. For the last 13 years he has specialised in Professional Indemnity and the latter 3.5 years as Head of Professional Indemnity for Newline Lloyd’s Syndicate.

Stephen joined OdysseyRe in 2000 and is currently Active Underwriter at Newline Syndicate (1218). Stephen has over 25 years underwriting and management experience in the London Market. Prior to joining OdysseyRe, Stephen held a senior management position at Reliance National Insurance Company.
Stephen is a Freeman of the City of London, which was bestowed in 1997 for his outstanding service to the City. He graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Economics, Politics and International Law from the University of Wales in Cardiff.
Mr. Watsa is the Chairman of our board of directors. Mr. Watsa has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited since 1985, and as Vice President of Hamblin Watsa Investment Counsel Ltd. since 1985. Mr. Watsa currently serves on the board of the OdysseyRe Foundation. He formerly served as Vice President of GW Asset Management from 1983 to 1984, and Vice President of Confederation Life Investment Counsel from 1974 to 1983. Mr. Watsa is a resident of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Bernard joined Compagnie Transcontinentale de Réassurance (CTR) in 1980 as a Treaty Underwriter and transferred to OdysseyRe in 2000. Bernard has held a number of positions within the Company over the past 23 years and is currently responsible for the marketing and underwriting of Treaty business in: Benelux, Central & Eastern Europe, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Africa. Bernard and his team of bilingual underwriters are based in Paris.
Mr. Martin is a member of our board of directors. Mr. Martin has served as a Vice President of Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited since 1998 and as the Chief Operating Officer since November 2006. Mr. Martin is also on the board of directors of Northbridge Financial Corporation, and Crum & Forster Holdings Corp, both of which are affiliates of the Company. Mr. Martin served as a director of Hub International Limited from May 2002 to June 2007. Previously, Mr. Martin was a partner at the law firm of Torys LLP in Toronto, Canada. Mr. Martin is a resident of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Mr. Dowd is the Vice Chairman of our board of directors. Mr. Dowd has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Fairfax Inc., and Chairman of FFHL Group Ltd., each a holding company subsidiary of Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited, since January 1998. Mr. Dowd has served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fairfax Asia Limited since 2002. Mr. Dowd has served as a member of the board of directors of ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited since November 2001. He has served as a member of the board of directors of First Capital Insurance Limited since August 2006. Mr. Dowd has served as a member of the board of directors of Falcon Insurance Company (Hong Kong) Limited since 2003. Mr. Dowd currently serves on the boards of St. John’s University School of Risk Management, the International Insurance Foundation, the Korea Society and the International Insurance Society. Mr. Dowd served as the Chairman of Cunningham Lindsey Group, Inc., a publicly traded affiliate of OdysseyRe, from November 2001 to April 2006. Mr. Dowd served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Odyssey Reinsurance Corporation (now known as Clearwater Insurance Company) from July 1996 to December 1997, and as President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from August 1995 to September 1996. Mr. Dowd served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Willis Faber North America, Inc. from February 1993 to May 1995. He also served in various executive positions, including Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Skandia America Corporation and Skandia America Reinsurance Corporation from December 1971 to October 1992. Mr. Dowd has over 37 years of experience in the insurance business. Mr. Dowd is a resident of New Canaan, Connecticut.
Gael Le Paih began his career in the reinsurance field at Caisse Centrale de Reassurance in 1986 as a treaty underwriter in charge of several markets. In 1990 he joined Compagnie Transcontinentale de Reassurance (CTR) as a Treaty Underwriter and transferred to OdysseyRe in 2000 in his current position as Zone Manager responsible for the underwriting and marketing of all business in: China, Israel, Greece, Cyprus, Middle East, Near East, Spain, Andorra, Turkey, North Africa, Portugal and the UK. Gael has an MBA from Pantheon Sorbonne University and received a Diploma in Insurance from the Paris Insurance Institute.

Mr. Kenny is a member of our board of directors. Mr. Kenny has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Insurance Society since 2001. Mr. Kenny served as Executive Vice President of Frontier Insurance Group, Inc., from 1998 until 2001. Mr. Kenny also served as Senior Vice President of SS&C Technologies, where he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions, and relationships with banking and regulatory institutions. From 1988 to 1994, Mr. Kenny served as Chief Financial Officer of Aetna Life & Casualty, where he was responsible for Corporate Finance and Communication, Internal Auditing, Information Technology, and Investor Relations. Mr. Kenny spent the first 23 years of his career at KPMG Peat Marwick, last serving as Senior Audit partner. He is currently a director of Foresters, where he serves on the Human Resources and Compensation and Investments Committees. Mr. Kenny also serves as a director of ING Funds, where he chairs the Compliance Committee, and serves on the Audit and International Review committees. He is also a director of Assured Guaranty Ltd., where he serves on the Audit Committee, and as Chairman of the Compensation Committee. Mr. Kenny holds the CPA designation and currently serves on our Audit, Compensation and Transaction Review Committees. Mr. Kenny is a resident of West Hartford, Connecticut.

Mr. Bennett is a member of our board of directors. Since 1997, Mr. Bennett has been Deputy Chairman of Aon Re Canada. Mr. Bennett served as President of the Canadian International Reinsurance Brokers from 1972 until 1984, in partnership with Le Blanc Eldridge Parizeau of Montreal, until the two companies merged in 1984 to become BEP International. Mr. Bennett served as the Chairman of the Canadian operation. Prior to that Mr. Bennett spent ten years as a facultative and treaty broker for Guy Carpenter, following three years in the Lloyd s market. Mr. Bennett currently serves on our Transaction Review Committee. Mr. Bennett is a resident of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Mr. Solomon is a member of our board of directors. Mr. Solomon is a Vice Chairman of Marsh Inc. He joined Marsh as Managing Director of Marsh & McLennan Italia in 1974, later becoming Marsh's Area Head for the Far East, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. In 1986, he became head of Marsh's International Risk Management Division. In 1988, he was appointed to head Marsh's International Specialty Operations, including all operations in Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East/Africa, Japan and Korea. In 2001, his responsibilities expanded to include the rest of Asia and the Pacific, including India, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea. A graduate of Juniata College, Mr. Solomon also attended the American Institute for Foreign Trade (Thunderbird School) and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Mr. Solomon is a resident of New York, New York.
