The history of Ontario Corporation began in 1955 when the owners of a Muncie silverware plant, built by Canadian interests in the late 1890s, decided to close the facility. Ontario's founder, William W. Rich, did not see a closing but rather envisioned an opportunity to create something entirely new. Mr. Rich and his associates purchased the facility and began making close-tolerance forgings, mostly for aircraft engines. During its first quarter century, Ontario developed as a premiere independent forge shop. Along the way, Ontario acquired two more forge plants, one in Springfield, Massachusetts, and another in Pontypool, South Wales, Great Britain. Over time Ontario expanded outside the forging market to acquire a metallurgical testing firm known as Sherry Laboratories, a high-tech brazing company operating as Pyromet Industries, Inc. in San Carlos, California, and a machining company known as CDS Engineering of San Jose, California. Ontario formed Ontario Development Corporation, a real estate development company in Muncie, Indiana, and started a commercial television station, WFFT-TV Channel 55 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Added to Sherry Laboratories were testing facilities in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Lafayette, Louisiana, as well as Columbus and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Green previously served as Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Director of Operations and General Manager for CDS California before serving in his current capacity as Quality Manager. Prior to joining CDS in October 2001, Mr. Green worked for Saint-Gobain Semiconductor Equipment Company in various capacities. His tenure with Saint-Gobain began in 1991 as Engineering Manager followed by various positions in Manufacturing, Planning, Information systems and Operations Management. As an advocate of Lean Manufacturing Principles, Mr. Green was instrumental in the strategic development of operations with emphasis on business systems integration, new facilities projects and relocations.

Graduate of l'Ecole Polythechnique of Montreal in 1986, Benoit joins the family company, Du-For Scaffolding Inc., early. In 1991, he purchases the company that was the leader in the rental of tubular scaffolds in Quebec. In 1992, he meets the challenge to design and develop an access platform for the maintenance of the lanterns of the Biodome of Montreal. This new challenge stimulates him and he decides then to change the vocation of another family business, INTO (1972) Inc. INTO specializes in access systems of all kinds. Today, it is the most important company of its kind in Quebec. Benoit joined Hydro Mobile as Vice-President in January 2000. His scaffolding rental company, Du-For Inc., is also the Hydro Mobile distributor for Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces in Canada.

Michael T. Duerson, Director of Operations, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University. He has over 27 years of experience in the Aerospace, Automotive and Food manufacturing industries including working for such companies as Ontario Corporation, Borg Warner Automotive, RCM Industries, Rochester Gear Divison Newcor Corp, and Fair Oaks Farms. His experience is extensive in the areas of production, quality, sales, new product development, manufacturing engineering, capital planning and labor relations. The focus in Mike's career has been the creation, direction, and management of turnaround teams. These teams have been successful in substantially improving the bottom line. As a compassionate businessman, he prides himself on treating people with respect while improving productivity and manufacturing practices. Michael is the newest addition to the management team, joining us in July of 2004. As Director of Operations, he is responsible for strategic direction and implementation of the manufacturing techniques used in the Toyota manufacturing system and practice of Deming's philosophy (waste reduction and productivity optimization). He has a strong track record of improvement that follows him from Fair Oaks Farms including increased sales of 30% annually, improved productivity by over 105%, reduced downtime from 15.5% to 8% and reduced rework from 8.33% to 0.3% of pounds produced. His track record of success and improvement has made him a very welcome member of the Duerson Foods management team.
