OTP is Hungary's bank. Budapest, Hungary-based OTP Bank Ltd. (Budapest: OTP) was established in 1949 as The National Savings Bank. Today, the formerly state-owned bank offers a wide array of institutional, commercial, corporate, and private-level banking services. The financial services company has revenue of $3.6 billion and employs almost 17,000 people in its network of banks in and around Hungary. The bank began by providing retail deposits and loans and has since branched out into offering services such as real estate, domestic foreign currency accounts and foreign exchange services, banking services for Hungarian municipalities, commercial banking, corporate loan accounts and deposits, and commercial loans and banking services for correspondent banking and export-import transactions. In March 2006 the bank acquired Serbian Ni?ka banka a.d. Ni? (Ni?ka banka) for about $17 million. In January 2006 the bank acquired ASIGURAREA CECCAR-ROMAS SA, an insurance company, for about $4.5 million.
