PacifiCorp was formed in 1984, when its electric utility, natural resource development and telecommunications businesses grew into full-fledged enterprises. In 1989, it merged with Utah Power & Light, and continued doing business as Pacific Power and Utah Power. The company was acquired by MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company in 2006.

Douglas Anderson, 49, has been with MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company for more than 10 years starting as corporate counsel to CalEnergy and holding various legal counsel positions of increasing responsibility. In May 2001, Anderson assumed his current role as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. He oversees all legal matters for the company. Anderson supports the company's acquisitions, development and financing activities, and is responsible for all contract, litigation and regulatory matters.
