Mr. Baraw joined the Company in March 1996. Dr. Smotrich has served as the Company's Chief Technical Officer since 1997. From August 1994 through 1997, Dr. Smotrich served as the Company's President and a Director. Dr. Smotrich was a consultant to Dymed from May 1992 until its merger with Palomar in September 1992, at which time he became the Company's Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Secretary and a Director. From July 1988 until May 1991, Dr. Smotrich was an independent consultant specializing in the development and manufacture of laser based medical products. Dr. Smotrich was Vice President of Operations at Candela Laser Corp. from June 1987 to June 1988, where he was responsible for medical laser production and product development. From July 1984 to June 1987, as Corporate Vice President of Research and Development, Dr. Smotrich was responsible for the design and development of surgical laser products at Merrimack Laboratories, Inc., which was acquired by the LaserSonics division of Cooper Laboratories, Inc. From 1972 to 1984, Dr. Smotrich was Vice President in charge of the Electro-Optics Group at Avco Everett Research Laboratory, Inc., working in the laser technology field. Dr. Smotrich received a certificate from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and has a B.S. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Physics from Columbia University.

Dr. Altshuler joined the company to lead the research and development in 1996. He was professor and head of department of Quantum Electronics and Biomedical Optics of St. Petersburg Institute of Fine Mechanics and Optics, largest optical university of Russian Federation. From 1993 to 1996, he was Vice President of Research and Development for Laser Medical System G.m.b.H., Vienna, Austria. From 1989 to 1996, Dr. Altshuler was a general manager for Laser Center of St. Petersburg. Since 1980 Dr. Altshuler has lead more then 25 projects of development laser systems for medicine, dentistry, space and industrial applications. He is author of 140 papers and 50 patents. Ms. Davis joined the Company in August 2001. Ms. Davis is a Registered Patent Attorney and has over ten years of legal experience with high tech companies. As General Counsel to Palomar, Ms. Davis is responsible for legal functions including intellectual property protection and licensing, corporate issues, FDA regulatory issues, contract negotiation, litigation and labor issues. Prior to joining Palomar, Ms. Davis served as Corporate and IP Counsel to telecommunication start-up, Equipe Communications Corporation. Prior to joining Equipe, Ms. Davis served as Senior Patent Counsel to Boston Scientific Corporation, and prior to that, Ms. Davis was an Associate with the law firm of Fish & Richardson. Before becoming an attorney and after receiving a BSEE from Northeastern University, Ms. Davis held various engineering positions at Digital Equipment Corporation including Design Engineer and Senior Design Engineer. Ms. Davis left engineering to work in Digital's Legal Department as a patent agent while she attended night law school and received her Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude from Suffolk University Law School.

Paul Wiener joined the company on February 1, 2000 as Vice President of Sales to lead Palomar's sales organization. Paul has more than 20 years of experience in selling medical lasers for numerous applications. In 1991, Paul Wiener was a co-founder of Continuum Biomedical, Inc. (ConBio) and served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Clinical Applications. Prior to ConBio, Paul Wiener was Vice President of Sales for Metalaser Technologies and Regional Sales Manager for Cooper Lasersonices and Molectron, Inc. Mr. Armstrong joined Palomar Medical Technologies, Inc. in 1996 to oversee global customer service operations. In 1997 he was promoted to Vice President of Quality, Regulatory and Customer Service. Since 2001 he has held the position of Vice President of Operations and is currently responsible for product development, manufacturing, customer service, quality assurance and regulatory affairs. The majority of this time was spent working with Visx Inc., during the early development and pre-market approval of PhotoRefractive Keratectomy. This procedure is now one of the most common surgical procedures performed throughout the world and is performed with an excimer laser, which uses a cool ultraviolet light beam to precisely remove ("ablate") very tiny bits of tissue from the surface of the cornea in order to reshape it.

Prior to joining Palomar in September 2003, Jeff Knight ran a successful medical laser distributorship that was the top US distributor for Palomar. In addition, his business carried a number of different systems ranging from noninvasive cosmetic systems to urological and ophthalmic lasers, selling hundreds of lasers over the preceding years for use in hospitals and private practice settings. New York Plastic Surgeon specialist, Kenneth Owen Rothaus, M.D. earned his bachelor of science degree at Yale College, graduating Magna Cum Laude and with honores insignes in biologia. Dr. Economou formerly served as chief executive officer of Confluent Photonics Corporation, a supplier of optical transport systems for the CATV and telecommunications industries.
