Pan-Oston began its journey in 1968 as a subsidiary of Halton Oy, a Finnish fixture company. North American Production began in 1978 in Peterborough, Canada and production began at the Glasgow, KY Plant in 1988. Houchens Industries, with headquarters in Bowling Green KY, acquired the company in 2002. To support its expanding business, Pan-Oston relocated its headquarters and US operations to Bowling Green, KY in 2005. Later in 2005 the company expanded its offering and core competencies to include high-end wood fixtures with the acquisition of an experienced wood fixture company in Hiram, GA. Pan-Oston addresses Canadian Market opportunities through a joint venture of Pan-Oston Ltd. and Complete Retail Solutions. Today Pan-Oston Co. is a majority owned subsidiary of Houchens Industries with facilities in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Peterborough Canada, Hiram, Georgia with additional sales offices in Pittsburgh, and Tampa. Houchens Industries is one of the largest employee owned (?ESOP?) companies in the United States. Houchens with approximately $3 billion in annual sales and 10,000 employees has interests in grocery, tobacco, construction, information technology, insurance, recycling, and manufacturing industries.
