Paratek Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Tom Bigger has been President, Chief Executive Officer, and a Director of Paratek Pharmaceuticals since September 1999. Mr. Bigger has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in both large and small companies, most recently as Senior Vice President of Magainin Pharmaceuticals. Prior to that Mr. Bigger spent 15 years at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer (RPR), where he held a series of positions with increasing responsibilities, including serving as President of Dermik Laboratories, a wholly owned subsidiary of RPR.

John Dunphy is Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Paratek Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Dunphy has over 15 years experience in the healthcare sector, serving most of these years as an investment banker, advising emerging growth companies and transacting private and public offerings. Mr. Dunphy was most recently with Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as Chief Financial Officer. Before beginning a career directly within the pharmaceutical industry Mr. Dunphy accumulated a wealth of experience on Wall Street having worked at S.G. Cowen Securities for thirteen years as Managing Director, Equity Capital Markets Group. In his tenure there and at Butcher & Singer as Senior Vice President, Syndicate Manager, he was instrumental in business transactions that moved forward the business plans and IPO's of various pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Mr. Dunphy earned his BA at Boston College and an MBA at Ohio State University.

Dennis Molnar is Vice President of Corporate Development for Paratek Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Molnar has ten years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, working in a variety of capacities, including business development, management, finance, and consulting. Most recently Mr. Molnar was President of JBI Associates, LLC, a software and consulting firm providing services to hospital pharmacies. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Molnar served as Director of Finance and Business Development at Magainin Pharmaceuticals. Prior to receiving his MBA in Healthcare Management from the Wharton School of Management in 1998, Mr. Molnar held a series of positions at Bogart Delafield Ferrier, Inc., a strategic management consulting firm, providing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Ken Tanaka is Vice President, Research and Development, of Paratek Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Tanaka has over 20 years of experience in research and development in the pharmaceutical industry at both large and small pharmaceutical companies. In 1981, he joined E. R. Squibb & Sons, Inc. as a scientist in its monobactam and NCE programs. Recruited by Schwarz Pharma in 1987 to lead their US clinical development effort, Dr. Tanaka then moved to Abbott Laboratories as head of microbiology in 1991. At Abbott, he was involved in the macrolide, quinolone, and NCE discovery programs, as well as the development and marketing support processes for clarithromycin, temofloxacin, and ABT-773. In 1997, he joined PathoGenesis Corp., as its Senior Director of Anti-infective Drug Evaluation, supervising development efforts and marketing of aerosolized tobramycin. He received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from Northwestern University in 1978, and did his postdoctoral training in clinical microbiology at the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington.

Sean Johnston is Vice President of Manufacturing Operations of Paratek. Dr. Johnston joined Paratek in April of 2003 and has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry focusing on process development, manufacturing and operations. Dr. Johnston began his career as a Process Manager for Bristol Myers-Squibb. Prior to joining Paratek, Dr. Johnston served as the Senior Vice President of Operations for Genaera Corporation. At Genaera and other start-up organizations he managed development, manufacture and analytical activities associated with a range of drug product candidates, including small molecules and biologics in multiple product formulations. He has made regulatory submissions in the U.S., Canada and Europe, and has hosted pre-approval inspections and general inspections by the FDA and other regulatory authorities. Dr. Johnston has also worked with pharmaceutical contract manufacturers, including Lonza and Siegfried Chemicals, where he was responsible for all aspects of commercial and clinical manufacturing, process improvement, technology transfer and facilities expansion. Dr. Johnston received his MBA and Ph.D. from the National University of Ireland.

Dr. Sun serves as a Principal of the Perseus-Soros BioPharmaceutical Fund (PSBF). Previously, Dr. Sun was an entrepreneur co-founding a disease management company for patients on blood thinners. In addition, Dr. Sun was an Adjunct Instructor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he provided consulting services to a large managed care organization and investigated pharmacoeconomic issues at the Leonard Davis Institute. Dr. Sun's background also includes basic science research at the N.I.H. on calcium ion channels and medical informatics studies at Albert Einstein Hospital on clinical information systems in the operating room. Dr. Sun received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an M.D. from Temple University School of Medicine with A.O.A. honors. In addition, he is a Board Certified Internist and has an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Patricia Smith is a Director of Paratek. Dr. Smith is a qualified physician with 20 years of healthcare experience, ten of which were with Zeneca Group plc (Zeneca). During her tenure with Zeneca, Dr. Smith held a number of positions in international clinical development as well as national/international marketing. She was involved in product launches for a variety of therapeutic indications including anti-infectives, cardiovascular and oncology, among others. As Zeneca s UK marketing director, Dr. Smiths responsibilities also included business development and planning within the international commerce group. A member of the Royal College of Physicians since 1984, Dr. Smith received her medical training at the Nottingham University School of Medicine. In addition to Paratek, Dr. Smith is also a director for XTL Biopharmaceuticals Ltd, a biopharmaceutical development company listed on the LSE. She is CEO of Slendertone, a division of BioMedical Research Ltd and a director of BioMedical Research Ltd.
