Park Industries was founded in 1953 as Park Tool, a division of the Gran-A-Stone Company in Waite Park, Minnesota. This business manufactured and sold a concrete stone product that was used as a building veneer similar to face brick. Park Tool manufactured hydraulic masonry cutters, the early cousins of what would become our HYDRA-SPLIT stone splitters, to split the manufactured stone product. The continued growth of Park Tool eventually led to the Company being incorporated separately from Gran-A-Stone in 1972. In 1985, Park Tool assumed the new name of Park Industries and moved into a new 30,000 square foot facility. That facility remains with Park as one of our manufacturing buildings. Park Industries expanded its product lines and services nearly continuously in response to the ever-changing needs of the stone industry.
