Kate Mitchell understands the opportunities and challenges of making a service business work in the online economy. When Bank of America brought internet banking to its 33 million consumer customers, Kate drove the development of the technology, the business model and the team. Since joining Scale Venture Partners in 1997, Kate has exhibited the same leadership skills and farsightedness as she had previously during her career. While she's been instrumental in building Scale Venture Partners' overall team and strategic direction, particularly in infrastructure software and enterprise solutions, her passion is to work closely with tomorrow's leaders to move their companies to the next level. For example, Kate helped Wayport evolve its business model and introduced them to McDonalds, who became a key new customer. All of her companies benefit from her strategic insights and keen analytical capabilities. Her board seats include Acusphere, Cogency Software, Pavilion Technologies, Songbird Medical and Wayport. Kate brings more than 20 years' experience in technology, finance and management to her portfolio teams. In addition to designing, developing and launching Bank of America's internet banking services, she was a senior member of the bank's capital markets and finance groups. Kate holds a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from the Executive Program at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. She also attended the Harvard Executive Program for Strategic Marketing. Kate is active as a Charter Member of Environmental Entrepreneurs (Silicon Valley).
