Bob Lichtman joined The Pay-O-Matic Corp. nearly 40 years ago! Bob was discharged from the army in 1962 and got a temporary job working construction. He then worked for 2 1/2 years as a machinist and during that time he met Michael Barone and approached him about the possibility of working at POM. Mike suggested that Bob speak with Jack Vendekieft about employment. Bob did, and the rest is history.

Chris Barone began working in Manhattan in 1997 as a check casher. In 2000, he migrated out to the Pay-O-Matic headquarters in Syosset, New York to work in the accounting department. After acqiring enough practical experience in all facets of the check cashing industry, Chris was ready to head the Queens/Long Island division of the Pay-O-Matic Corp. Chris majored in Business at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida.

Jack Vandekieft was working at Manufacturer's Hanover Bank (where he met his wife Joanne) when he was offered a job cashing checks at the first Pay-O-Matic store in the Bronx on March 23, 1957. The store was located at 908 Freeman Street. It has since moved to its current location at 1245 Southern Boulevard and now serves as borough headquarters. Jack worked with his stepfather, John Barone (one of our company's founders) at the Manhattan borough headquarters at 301 West 14th Street before becoming manager of 642 Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn.
