Pebercan is involved in the exploration, development and operation of oil reserves. Through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Peberco Limited ("Peberco"), the Company holds exclusive oil and gas exploration and operation rights to the Canasi, Seboruco and Santa Cruz concessions located in the Republic of Cuba. These three concessions form an integral part of Block 7 on which exploration activities have been completed. The Company's oil and gas operations are governed by a production-sharing agreement which expires in August 2018. To date, these concessions, for which the Company signed a joint venture agreement with Sherritt Oil and Gas ("Sherritt"), another Canadian company, account for 100% of its oil sales. For the year ended December 31, 2007, the total production of Block 7 reached 7,215,046 barrels, for an average of 19,767 barrels per day. Pebercan's net share of Block 7 totalled 2,791,128 barrels, for an average output of 7,647 barrels per day. Pebercan sells all of its oil production to Cubapetroleo S.A. ("Cupet"), a Cuban government agency.
