Ken Li MA, MBA kli@cqpharm.com , General Manager of ChiralQuest JiaShan (CQJ) in China, joined ChiralQuest from BioDefense Corp., where he was VP of operations. Ken has over 10 years drug development experience with Eisai Research Institute in Massachusetts and Wyeth-Ayerst. Ken was instrumental in the development of Eisai's complex anti-sepsis drug and he is expert in chemical process R&D and scale-up under cGMP. Ken is a member of the Board of SAPA, and was the founder and first president for SAPA-NE. Mr. Li received his MBA from Babson College, and his MA from City College of New York. . Laura Schove, Ph.D., lschove@chiralquest.com Director of Business Development, joined Chiral Quest in February 2006. Prior to joining Chiral Quest, Dr. Schove was the Manager of West Coast Sales for Regis Technologies. She has over ten years experience working on the west coast with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Schove was employed by Tripos Inc. in several positions, eventually serving as Director of Business Development. Dr. Schove worked as a computational chemist at Signal Pharmaceuticals (now Celgene) and ImmunoPharmacetics (acquired by Encysive). Dr. Schove holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of California at Los Angeles. Xumu Zhang, Ph.D., xumu@chem.psu.edu Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, is Professor of Organic Chemistry at Pennsylvania State University. He began teaching at Penn State as an Assistant Professor in 1994. Dr. Zhang completed his post-doctoral and research work at Stanford University where he received his Ph.D. in 1992 under the direction of Professor James P. Collman.

Tony is a managing director at Internet Capital Group. He works closely with ICG’s private core companies in helping to drive their growth, and is also involved in the company’s acquisition efforts. Additionally, Tony oversees the corporate development and IT functions of ICG.
Tony was a co-founder of Brience, Inc., a wireless software company, where he directed the finance, legal and other administrative functions. Previously, he was executive vice president of Sallie Mae, the nation’s leading provider of student loans, where he was responsible for finance and systems. During most of his career Tony was a senior partner at KPMG Peat Marwick with responsibilities for the financial services and technology practices and was a member of the firm’s board of directors. Tony is also the Chairman of the Accounting Advisory Board at the Pennsylvania State University.

A well-traveled native New Englander Mr. Donahoe was born in Woonsocket, RI, and educated in five different states before graduating from Northwest HS in Indianapolis, IN (1968). Beginning his university studies at Purdue University he completed his studies and received his BS degree in Physical Education from Boston University where he was captain of the wrestling team and served as assistant coach. As teacher and coach he taught in Indianapolis at Speedway Junior HS, then at Pennsylvania State University. He served as assistant wrestling coach at Clemson University from 1982 to 1986 under Wade Schalles and Eddie Griffin and earned a Master's degree in Educational Administration (1986). He served as head wrestling coach at Siena Heights University, Adrian, MI (1986-88). Distinguished himself as coach with USA Wrestling's National Coaching staff in 1983, participating in the National Olympic Festival; member NAIA Wrestling Coach's Association Public Relations Committee (1987-88); manager NAIA All-Star team, winner of the Oceana Cup in Melbourne, Australia (1988). Mr. Donahoe became a radio broadcaster and relocated to North Carolina where he continued his wrestling career as coach and official for high school wrestling. Member National Wrestling Coaches Association, National High School Coaches Association, Indy West Wrestling Club, founder and executive director of North Dare (NC) Wrestling Club. Since joining Lincoln in 1985, Mr. Austin has performed and coordinated analysis of successfully completed development projects with total costs in excess of 1.5 billion. He has coordinated the underwriting and analysis of more than $500 million in multi-family acquisitions. In addition, he has been responsible for completing strategic plans for property management and development operations of twenty offices covering property operations in 15 states with annual revenues in excess of $30 million. Over the last several years, Mr. Austin has been responsible for and/or assisted in closing construction and permanent loans in excess of $750 million. Mr. Austin holds a B.S. in accounting from Pennsylvania State University (1981) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is a member of the Dallas Association of Investment Analysts.
Dr. Burroughs is a Senior Engineer at Noise Control Engineering, Inc and an Associate Professor Emeritus from the Pennsylvania State University. He joined NCE in 2004 after retiring. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Noise Control Engineering Journal (NCEJ) published by the Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE). His current research project at NCE is the development of near-field acoustical holographic measurements in commercial aircraft cabins.

Jan S. Ulbrecht is Associate Professor of Biobehavioral Health and Medicine at Penn State University. Dr. Ulbrecht's research interests include the foot in diabetes, diabetic neuropathy, diabetes complications in general, clinical diabetes, behavior as treatment for diabetes, diabetes prevention, systems of care for diabetes and diabetes prevention, macronutrients and diabetes, metabolic bone disease, and lipid metabolism. He has authored or co-authored numerous journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters and he is a member of the graduate faculty at Penn State University. He holds memberships with the American Diabetes Association, Endocrine Society, and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. His clinical practice in Endocrinology and Metabolism is based at Centre Medical and Surgical Associates of State College, Pennsylvania. Dr. Ulbrecht received his medical degree from Worchester College, Oxford University, England and University College Hospital Medial School, University of London, England. He completed his internship at Stafford Royal Infirmary, Stafford, England and Basingstoke District Hospital, Basingstoke, England. His residency was completed at State University of New York, Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, New York. He also held a Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

In some applications, he has been a successful leader of workforces which exceeded 2000 employees. John is a graduate of Eastern University and serves as adjunct faculty at Penn State University.
Patricia A. Woertz is chairman, chief executive officer and president of Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM). Pat joined ADM in 2006 as CEO and president. She assumed the additional role of chairman in 2007. As chairman, CEO and president, Pat leads one of the world’s largest agricultural processing companies. For more than 100 years, ADM has turned crops into products for food, animal feed, chemical and energy uses. ADM also operates the world’s premier origination and transportation network that connects crops and markets in more than 60 countries. Today, ADM is a Fortune 60 company with 27,000 employees across the globe. Since joining ADM, Pat has worked with the Board and senior management to position ADM for continued success. Under her direction, ADM has articulated a strategic focus to expand ADM’s position in the agricultural processing value chain and to grow the Company’s BioEnergy business. Pat also led the reorganization of ADM’s operations to enhance efficiency and provide clearer lines of responsibility for long-term success. Truly passionate about developing people, Pat strengthened ADM’s commitment to employee safety and communications. In 2006, she led ADM’s first all-colleague global Town Hall where she shared the Company’s strategic focus with colleagues worldwide. In 2007, she led ADM’s first Global Safety Week and issued a safety call to action to all ADM colleagues. Both have become annual Company events. A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Pat began her career with Ernst & Young in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as a certified public accountant. Attracted to the complexity and opportunity of a global energy company, she joined Gulf Oil Corporation in 1977 and held positions in refining, marketing, strategic planning and finance. Following the merger of Gulf and Chevron in 1987, Pat served as president of Chevron Canada and later Chevron International Oil Company. With the merger of Chevron and Texaco in 2001, she was named executive vice president in charge of the company’s refining, marketing, lubricant, and supply and trading operations. She retired from Chevron in March 2006. Pat Woertz is an internationally recognized business leader. In 2007, Fortune magazine named her the sixth most powerful woman in business. In 2006, she was identified as one of the 25 most influential leaders of the year by Fortune magazine. Pat is a member of the Board of Directors of the Procter & Gamble Company, and is a member of the National Petroleum Council, the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, The Business Council and Business Roundtable. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of San Diego and the Board of Visitors of Pennsylvania State University, which awarded her its highest recognition for alumni. She also serves as a vice chairman for the Kennedy Center Corporate Fund.
Barry Ruback is Professor of Crime, Law, & Justice and Sociology at Penn State University. He received a B.A. in history from Yale University, a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, and an M.S. and a Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the State Bar Associations of Georgia and Texas. From 1979-1996 he was at Georgia State University, where he was Professor and Associate Chair of Psychology, Professor of Criminal Justice, and Adjunct Professor of Law. From 1989-1995 he served as Research Director of the Georgia Statistical Analysis Bureau, and from 1992-1997, he was the editor of the journals Criminal Justice Review and International Criminal Justice Review. He is currently on the editorial boards of Criminal Justice and Behavior, Criminal Justice Review, Law and Human Behavior, and Violence and Victims. In 1986-87 Dr. Ruback was a Visiting Fellow at the National Institute of Justice. He was a Fulbright Fellow (1985-86), an Indo-American Fellow (1988), and a Fulbright-Hays Fellow (1991) for research in India, and he was a Fulbright South Asia Regional Scholar (1993-94) for study in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. In 1995-96 he served as a Judicial Fellow of the Supreme Court of the United States, assigned to the U.S. Sentencing Commission.

Dr. Stephon Alexander is an Associate Professor at Pennsylvania State University in the Department of Physics and the Department of Astrophysics. He is also the Director of the Caribbean Institute for Advanced Studies (CARIAS). A native of Trinidad and Tobago, he graduated from Brown University in 2000 with a Ph.D. in physics. Dr. Alexander specializes in theoretical cosmology and superstring theory. He completed two postdoctoral qualifications at Imperial College, London, and Stanford's Linear Accelerator Center and Institute for Theoretical Physics. His research activities focus on the interface between early universe cosmology and the quantum theory of gravity. Dr. Alexander was named one of eight 2006 National Geographic Emerging Explorers. The Emerging Explorers program recognizes and supports uniquely gifted and inspiring people around the globe who are making a significant contribution to world knowledge through exploration while still early in their careers. In 2005, he was interviewed along with colleagues at Stanford as a part of a PBS television series on Albert Einstein. In his spare time, Dr. Alexander plays the tenor saxophone.

Suzanne D. Welch is the Director of Worldwide Total Compensation and Vice President, Human Resources, Eastman Kodak Company with responsibility for Kodak s compensation and benefit programs worldwide. In 2003, Ms. Welch served as Vice President, Business and Technology Strategy, Corning, Inc. with responsibilities for assessing early stage marketing opportunities, marketing technology capability, and facilitating the work of the Growth and Strategy Council for Corning, Inc. Suzanne was also a member of the Chairman s Diversity Council. Suzanne joined Corning in April 1999 and in the following year was appointed corporate vice president. She led Corning s Corporate Marketing during the institution of market led strategy in the company s businesses, the revision of the corporate brand identity, and the launch of eBusiness. Prior to joining Corning, Ms. Welch was vice president of international development for PictureVision, Eastman Kodak Company s industry-leading Kodak PhotoNet online service. Prior to her most recent position at Kodak, Suzanne was brand manager for the Kodak Picture Network and general manager of Internet Marketing. Previous experience includes key sales and marketing positions in the company s Business Imaging Systems Division, as well as key roles in human resources and communications. She also served as a federal government lobbyist for Kodak. Ms. Welch has served on the boards of a number of non-profit organizations, including the United Way of the Southern Tier, Smeal College at Penn State University, and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Ms. Welch received a bachelor s degree in political science from Eisenhower College and attended the Executive Development Programs at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and at Northwestern University.
As owner and founder of Iron Oak Development, LLC, Tim McKenna applies over 30 years business management experience to this venture. His expertise in land development and connections in the business community has enabled him to negotiate contracts with well-known commercial and residential builders, property owners and property managers. McKenna is also the founder of McKenna American, a full-service landscaping, maintenance and snow removal company serving some of the region's largest sports arenas, shopping centers and office complexes in the PA, NJ, DE and MD region since 1966. McKenna American has been nominated for the National Landscape Award by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties. McKenna is a member of the Pennsylvania Nurseryman's Association, the Winterthur Business Advisory Board, and is a lecturer for Pennsylvania State University's Landscape Architecture and Landscape Contracting degree programs. He was formerly a member of the planning commission of Willistown Township, Chester County, PA, and a member of the Board of Directors for both Daylesford Abbey, Paoli, PA and Brandywine Airport, West Chester, PA. In addition, Tim served in the Pennsylvania Air Guard from 1967 through 1973 and he coached basketball, soccer and baseball for a period of 15 years in Chester County, PA. McKenna studied Business Administration at Villanova University and oversees overall company direction.

H. Jesse Arnelle was a senior partner in the law firm of Arnelle & Hastie, San Francisco, which later became Arnelle, Hastie, McGee, Willis & Greene, with which he had been associated from 1985 through his retirement in 1996. Following his retirement, he was Of Counsel to the North Carolina law firm of Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice until he retired in December 2005. Arnelle is a director of FPL Group, Inc., Armstrong Holdings, Inc. URS Corporation and Metropolitan Life Series Fund. Arnelle is the past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Pennsylvania State University and a director of the Eisenhower Fellows Program and the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.
Mr. Clemens has served as one of our directors since November 2005 and as Executive Chairman of our board of directors since January 2006. Since 2001, Mr. Clemens has company specializing in direct sales of insurance products utilizing the Internet, as a subsidiary of Provident American Corporation. In 1989, Mr. Clemens acquired a controlling interest in Provident American Corporation, an insurance holding company, and he served as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer until 2001. In 1970, Mr. Clemens founded Academy Insurance Group, a company specializing in direct marketing of life and health insurance products. He currently serves on the board of trustees and the Building, Finance, and Executive Committees of The Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Gavin is a founding partner of Quaker BioVentures. Previously, she was President of S.R. One, Limited (S.R. One), GlaxoSmithKline's bioscience venture capital investment company, and a general partner of EuclidSR Partners, an independent venture capital limited partnership focused on healthcare, information technology, and their convergence. Since its inception in 1985, S.R. One has invested over $340 million in approximately 100 life sciences companies and 20 venture funds. Dr. Gavin was responsible for many of the direct venture and strategic investments made by S.R. One. She served as a board member or active board observer for many of these, including Adolor, Inhale, Sepracor and Versicor. Prior to joining S.R. One in 1989, Dr. Gavin was Director of Business Development for SmithKline Beecham Animal Health Products. She started her career as an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Gavin is a graduate of Baylor University where she majored in Biology. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas - San Antonio. Dr. Gavin is highly regarded in the venture capital community and is a board member of Eximias Pharmaceutical Corporation, Celator Pharmaceuticals, Inc, the Ben Franklin Technology Center of Southeastern Pennsylvania, the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority, Innovation Philadelphia, BioAdvance (the Biotechnology Greenhouse Corporation of Southeastern Pennsylvania), and serves on the advisory boards of the Pennsylvania State University Research Foundation and the Monell Institute. Dr. Griffiths is the author of The Complete Swimming Pool Reference, Second Edition, published by Sagamore Publishing LLC, The Swimming Pool by Simon and Schuster and Sport SCUBA Diving in Depth published by the Princeton Book Company. His latest book, Better Beaches, released by the National Recreation and Park Association, is a huge success and has led to the development of NRPA's Better Beach Seminars and Aquatic Safety Research Group's Safe Swimming Beaches program which Tom teaches throughout the country. He also teaches the Aquatic Facility Operators Course (AFO) for NRPA. Dr. Griffiths is the lead investigator who has been conducting the National Lifeguard Survey since 1994 and has developed the Five Minute Scanning Strategy 2000 and accompanying video for lifeguards and other supervisors. Teaming up with Paragon Aquatics, he developed Griff's Guard StationTM a series of lifeguard stations improve safety and allow lifeguards to incorporate his scanning strategies. Dr. Griffiths serves as an international water safety consultant and, in his individual capacity, has been retained as an expert witness in a variety of personal injury cases including diving injuries and drownings at both pools and beaches. His lectures are known to be dynamic, informative, educational and inspiring.

In this position, Mr. Focht is responsible for the day-to-day management of the 9,200 acre, 62 park Fairmount Park system with a staff of 188 employees and an operating budget of $13.2 million. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Focht served as director of the Park Commission's Environment, Stewardship & Education Division (ES&ED). This division is an unprecedented multi-million dollar effort to restore the natural areas throughout the Fairmount Park system and to build a constituency for their protection through environmental education and community stewardship. Prior to that, Mr. Focht served as the park's natural lands restoration manager for three years. Mr. Focht holds Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees in landscape architecture from Penn State University and the University of Massachusetts, respectively, and is a PA licensed landscape architect. Prior to joining the Fairmount Park Commission in 1997, Mr. Focht was director of capital projects for the Center City District (Philadelphia, PA), a private sector business improvements district, where he directed the $26 million Walk!Philadelphia streetscape improvement project. Additionally, Mr. Focht has over ten years experience working for two multi-disciplinary design firms and has been an adjunct professor in Temple University's Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture since 1989. Mr. Focht lectures extensively, including presentations for the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER). Mr. Focht serves on Boards of the Fairmount Park Conservancy, Fairmount Park Historic Preservation Trust, Awbury Arboretum Association, Tookany/Tacony/Frankford Watershed Partnership and the Landscape Architecture Affiliated Program Group (APG) of the Pennsylvania State University.
