John Farr became the President and CEO of Pervasive in January 2006, and his executive focus has been on profitable earnings growth while fostering a culture of innovation. As CEO, John has worked to consolidate and streamline organizational and operational structures while making the product investments that provide Pervasive partners and customers with a compelling combination of performance, flexibility, reliability and low total cost of ownership.
John’s leadership track record in his career with Pervasive dates to when he joined the company soon after at its inception in 1994. A certified public accountant, John initially served in various financial and accounting capacities, including five years as the company's Chief Financial Officer. Under his executive and financial leadership, Pervasive has achieved consecutive quarters of profitability since 2001.
Prior to joining Pervasive, John spent 12 years in public accounting with KPMG LLP, an international accounting firm. John received his B.S. in business administration, summa cum laude, from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.

Michael Hoskins has served as our Chief Technology Officer since June 2004 and as General Manager of Integration Products since October 2006 (and previously from December 2003 to June 2004). Mr. Hoskins has also served as a Director since December 2003. Prior to joining Pervasive, Mr. Hoskins served as President and Director of Data Junction Corporation for 15 years. Mr. Hoskins joined Data Junction in 1988 as Vice President of Sales. Mr. Hoskins graduated from the Bowling Green State University with a bachelor of business administration and a major in finance.

Gilbert Van Cutsem is responsible for the growth, development, and success of Database Products. He has served as Vice President, EMEAA, and was managing director of Pervasive Software N.V., the Pervasive subsidiary in Brussels, Belgium, overseeing the company's sales and marketing activities in the Baltic States, the Benelux and Nordic countries. Gilbert joined Pervasive Software in September 1995 as business development manager for Europe. He was named Pervasive's Entrepreneur of the Year in 1999, the company's most prestigious honor.
With more than 20 years of IT industry experience, Gilbert has held a wide range of marketing and sales positions in Europe. Prior to joining Pervasive, he was channel and product marketing manager at Novell Benelux and director of marketing at AT&T's EMEA headquarters.
Gilbert holds degrees in computer science (Na.Ra.Fi. Brussels) and business administration (V.E.H. Brussels) and earned his Master's degree in Business Economics from FUCAM (Mons, Belgium), Gilbert is a Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School Alumni.

Mike brings 25 years of diverse product strategy, development, product marketing, sales management, engineering, business development and design experience to his role as Pervasive DataRush General Manager. He and his team focus on bringing the phenomenal speed of Pervasive DataRush to diverse applications, transforming business possibilities through leadership in data-intensive processing. Mike's experience managing P&L and divisional operations, most recently as General Manager, Infotainment, Multimedia and Telematics Products at Freescale, spans software and hardware in a range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, multimedia and industrial markets. Prior to Freescale, Mike was Director of Product Development and Strategy for Consumer Electronics at Delphi, as well as holding a variety of roles at Visteon including senior management positions in Multimedia and Telematics Product Development, and as CTO and VP of R&D for its former Speech Products subsidiary. He also managed product design and development groups at Ford Motor Company and Chrysler Motors Corporation. Mike received the prestigious Henry Ford Technology Award in 1999 for his leadership in developing voice control applications for the automobile and was a finalist for the Telematics Industry Leadership Award in 2007 and 2008. He holds an M.B.A. from Alabama A&M University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University.

Shelby H. Carter, Jr. is Chairman of the Board of Pervasive Software. Since January 1986, Carter has served as a distinguished adjunct professor at the University of Texas Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration. He founded several successful high technology companies, including SynOptics, which merged with Wellfleet to become Bay Networks before being bought by Northern Telecom, and VitalSigns Software, which was acquired by International Network Services in 1998. He also was formerly corporate vice president of worldwide operations for Xerox Corporation. Carter currently serves as chairman of the board of a private company and as a venture partner of Austin Ventures, focusing on the firm's Software & Services investment area. He received a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was recently named a distinguished alumnus.

A Pervasive founder and director since 1994, Nancy Woodward has in-depth experience in entrepreneurial leadership and corporate executive management. She served as chairman of the Pervasive board from 1994 through June 2002 and now serves as vice chairman. A former vice president and general manager for Novell, Inc., Woodward led Novell's Development Products Division, which developed and marketed the company's database products and software developer support programs. Working from Austin, Texas, she represented Novell to customers, the media, and industry and financial analysts. She also managed approximately 200 employees in product marketing, sales support, software engineering, developer support and administration. Woodward joined Novell in 1987 following its acquisition of SoftCraft, Inc., a company she co-founded and managed as president and chief executive officer. SoftCraft created and marketed database programming tools for software developers, including the highly successful Btrieve database. At the time of acquisition, SoftCraft earned annual revenues exceeding $2 million. In 1991, INC and Ernst & Young recognized Woodward as Austin's Entrepreneur of the Year. Woodward graduated with distinction in 1978 from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in computer science.
