Jose Sergio Gabrielli de Azevedo has been the CEO of Petrobras since July 2005. Previously, he was the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Director of Investor Relations, a position he took-over in January 2003. For his performance at Petrobras, he has been granted several awards. In 2004, for the work he did as the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Director of Investor Relations, he was elected "The Equilibrist of the Year" by the Brazilian Institute of Finance Executives (IBEF). Also in 2004, he was acknowledged as the “finance highlight” by the 20th ANEFAC Professionals of the Year Awards for 2004. Abroad, among other awards, in 2005 he was elected “Latin America’s Best Finance Executive" by the International Stevie Business Awards, and, in 2007, the Energy Executive of the Year by the Petroleum Economist Awards, in London. Before Petrobras, Gabrielli held several academic positions, among which that of visiting researcher at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Gabrielli is a full professor on leave from the Federal University of Bahia. He holds a PhD in economics from Boston University, is a native of the city of Salvador, in Bahia, and is 59 years old.

Almir Guilherme Barbassa has been Petrobras’ Chief Financial Officer and Investor Relations Director since July 21 2005. Previously, he had been the Executive Manager for Corporate Finances, a position he took over on July 12 1999. Barbassa holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the Get?lio Vargas Foundation/RJ. He was hired by Petrobras in 1974. Through 1989, Barbassa held several positions in the financial and planning areas, both in Brazil and abroad; form August 1989 to September 1992, he was the Financial Manager for Petrobras America INC in Houston, Texas. In 1993, he was assigned as the CFO of Braspetro, where he redirected the company’s focus and rendered it profitable and financially self-sustainable. Barbassa took Petrobras’ Corporate Finance Executive Management over in the midst of great turbulence in the international financial market, a period in which the Company used the most varied forms of fund raising, a fact that allowed it to overcome challenges and ensure its growth. Barbassa is the former president of Braspetro Oil Service Co. – Brasoil; of Petrobras International Finance Co. – PIFCO; of Petrobras Finance Ltd; of Petrobras Netherlands BV; of Petrobras Ireland; and of Catl?ia Ireland, companies that carry Petrobras’ international financial activities out.

Born in Rio de Janeiro. Graduated in geology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Petrobras employee since 1965, he acquired a vast experience in Petrobras, retiring from the Company in 1994. He joined the Company as a geologist and became Exploration Manager for Braspetro in Iraq (1976-1978). He was head of Interpretation of the Brazilian East Coast Basins and Organic Geochemistry sectors and of the Exploration Division; Superintendent for Research and Development in Exploration, Drilling and Production; and General Superintendent for the Company's Research Center (Cenpes). He was president of the RJ branch, councilor and National Vice-president of the Brazilian Geological Society as well as a member of the Brazilian Paleontology Society and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He was also Director of the Brazilian Petroleum Institute.

Mr. Paulo Roberto Costa graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Paran? in 1976 and specialized in Off-shore Engineering at Petrobras. From 1979 to 1994 he worked on platform installation and production development at the Campos basin in the areas of Engineering, Support Management and as Superintendent of the Southeastern Production Region. In 1995 he was promoted to General Manager of E&P Sul (Southern Brazil Exploration and Production), with responsibility for the Santos and Pelotas basins. In 1996 he became general manager for Logistics in the E&P area. From May 1997 to 1999 he headed up the Gas Segment, responsible for commercialization of natural gas. He was Director of Petrobras Gas S.A. (Gaspetro) from May 1999 to December 2000. From January 2001 to April 2003, he was General Manager for Logistics at Petrobras of Natural Gas Segment. He has been Managing Director of TBG-Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bol?via Brasil since April 2003.

Ramon Sosa is presently Director of External Relations and Communications of Petrobras in Venezuela. During the last 10 years he has managed corporate affairs for important corporations, such as Banco de Venezuela (Santander Group, Spain); SINCOR, a strategic alliance between TOTAL of France, STATOIL of Norway and PDVSA of Venezuela for the production and upgrading of heavy oil crude from the Orinoco Belt; INTESA, a subsidiary of Science Application International Corporation (SAIC) for Latin America; and British Petroleum (BP) in Venezuela. As the head of Corporate Affairs of the above mentioned companies, he designed and implemented strategic communications planning and programs execution and was responsible for brand positioning, Corporate Social Responsibility strategies and Social Investment plans, as w for their respective License to Operate (LTO). His career development began in IBM Venezuela and for 10 years occupied different positions in the marketing division working with the development of the 3rd. Party network, PC company and the industrial sector market development. Before leaving IBM he became the External Affairs Director and managed the Communications and External Relations function for 4 years. Mr. Sosa has been an active volunteer in different organizations and currently serves on the board of directors of United Way International; Dividendo Voluntario para la Comunidad (affiliated to UWI in Venezuela); FUDENA (WWF affiliate in Venezuela); member of the Social Alliance Committee of VenAmcham; Educredito; Audubon Society; AIESEC; and World Future Society.

Graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Federal Fluminense University, specializing in Petroleum Engineering, completing a post-graduate MBA course at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He held the position of Senior Petroleum Engineer at Petrobras, which he joined in 1978, as well as various managerial functions in the Company (platforms and exploration, drilling, special operations units). Between 1995 and 1999, he held the position of Human Resources Manager for the Exploration and Production Area, coordinating all the area's operational units. He was also E&P Manager for Well Engineering and Technology. Since November 2000, he has been Contracts Manager for the E&P area where he coordinated specification techniques, market analysis and the contracting of drilling rigs, vessels and helicopters, as well as the contracting of drilling services, special vessels for laying oil lines and underwater services.

Guilherme Marques Caloba Guilherme Marques Caloba has a Ph.D. and a M.Sc. in Operations Research from COPPE/UFRJ. He has a Production Engineering degree from UFRJ, where he worked with Regis Motta, also a presenter, since the year 2000 in training and consulting. Mr. Caloba works at Petrobras, the Brazilian Oil Company. He has tought Engineering Economics at UERJ and UFRJ and lectures at lato-sensu courses, mainly on oil and gas, finance and risk analysis. He also has written two books, and a variety of technical papers for magazines and seminars.

Barreto holds a BS degree in geology from UFPE in Brazil and did post-graduate study in geology/sea and oil geophysics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Jorge Luiz Zelada is an Electronic Engineer and has worked at Petrobras since January 1980, where he began working as an instrumentation engineer at the Executive Group for the Development of the Campos Basin (“Grupo Executivo para Desenvolvimento da Bacia de Campos” – Gecan), participating in the projects of the first platforms for that basin. His previous position at the Company, which he was holding since February 2003, was of General Manager for the Implementation of Exploration Undertakings and Production and Maritime Transportation for the Engineering Area (“Gerente Geral de Implementação de Empreendimentos de Exploração e Produção e Transporte Marítimo da Área de Engenharia”), the body in charge of building production platforms. He also occupied other managing positions in the areas of engineering and drilling. At Petrobras Distribuidora, Mr. Zelada was the Development Manager for Energy Solutions Projects, responsible for the implementation of energy projects for customers and of thermoelectric plants for the Federal Government’s Emergency Program. He graduated from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and participated in several courses in the technical and managerial areas.

Graça Foster, as she is also known, is a native of the city of Caratinga, state of Minas Gerais, and a career Petrobras professional. A graduate in Chemical Engineering from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), she holds a Master’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPPE/UFRJ), and an MBA in Economics from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation. She was elected the Director of PETROBRAS’ Gas & Energy Business Area on September 21 2007. She had been serving as the president of Petrobras Distribuidora S.A. since May 2006. In September 2005, she took-over as the president of Petroquisa, a position she accumulated with that of Director for Investor Relations for that company. Simultaneously, she was also the Executive Manager for Petrochemicals and Fertilizers, connected to Petrobras’ Downstream Board. From January 2003 to May 2006, Foster was the Mines & Energy Ministry’s Secretary for Oil, Natural Gas, and Renewable Fuels. In that interval, via Presidential Decrees, she also performed as the Interministerial coordinator for the Federal Government’s Biodiesel Program: Biodiesel Production and Use; and as the National Executive Secretary for the Federal Government’s Program for the National Oil Industry’s Mobilization (PROMINP). Before that, she had already held managerial positions at the Gas & Energy Business Unit and at the Leopoldo Miguez de Mello Research & Development Center (CENPES), at Petrobras, in addition to at the Transportadora Brasileira do Gasoduto Bolívia-Brasil (TBG). Graça Foster is the President of the Board of Directors of Liquigás Distribuidora S.A., Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Companhia Brasileira de Petróleo Ipiranga, and Member of the Board of Directors of the Inst. Brasileiro de Petróleo, Gás e Biocombustíveis. Previously, she served on the Board of Directors of Braskem S.A., Petroquímica União S.A., Rio Polímeros S.A., Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bolívia-Brasil S.A., and of Petrobras Transporte S.A. In April 2007, Graça Foster was decorated with the Foreign Relations Ministry’s Rio Branco Order’s title of Commendator.

Ms. Rousseff served as Minister of Mines and Energy of Brazil from January 1, 2003 until June 16, 2005, when she was appointed to be Minister Chief of Staff of Brazil. She has also served as: State Secretary of Energy, Mines and Communications of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (1993-1994 and 1999-2002); President of the Funda??o de Economia e Estat?stica do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (Economy and Statistics Foundation of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, 1991-1993); and Secretary of Finance of Porto Alegre (1986-1988). Ms. Rousseff has also participated, as Coordinator of the Infrastructure Group, in the previous Governmental Transition Team, which was created to facilitate the transition of power to the current government. Ms. Rousseff has a bachelors degree in economics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1977), a masters degree in economic theory from the University of Campinas, S?o Paulo (1979) and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in monetary and financial economy at the University of Campinas. At the last Ordinary General Meeting, Ms Rousseff was elected chair of board of directors of the Petr?leo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras).

Graduated in Business Administration from the Get?lio Vargas Foundation, Sao Paulo in 1976, obtaining his MBA from IMEDE (Institute for Management and Development), in Switzerland in 1979. He held positions in the Treasury area of Nestl? both in Brazil and overseas for the period from 1974 to 1986. He was a Director for various financial areas of the Citicorp Group between 1986 and 1992. He was President of LTCB Latin America Ltda. between May 1992 and August 1995. In September 1995, he moved to ABN Amro Bank, S?o Paulo - Brazil where he held the position of Corporate Banking & Finance Director until 1996, when he became President of the institution. With the incorporation of Banco Real S.A. by ABN Amro Bank, he was appointed CEO for Banco ABN AMRO REAL S.A. from November 1998. He has been a Councilor and a member of the Executive Board of the Brazilian Federation of Bank Associations - FEBRABAN since 1999. Invited by the President of the Republic to sit on the Council for Social and Economic Development, he has been a member of this institution since its creation at the beginning of 2003. Fabio Colletti Barbosa was elected member of the Petr?leo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras), and Petrobras Distribuidora S.A. (BR) Boards of Directors, at the last Ordinary General Meeting.

Born on May 17 1937, in the city of São Paulo (SP), Albuquerque studied at the “Escola de Aperfeiçoamento de Oficiais” (Officer Improvement School), in 1969, and graduated from the “Escola de Comando e Estado-Maior do Exército” (Army Staff Command School) in 1977. He commanded the Second Self-Propelled Artillery Company group headquartered in Itu (SP). An Economics graduate, he was deputy secretary for Army General Leônidas Pires Gonçalves. In the then Army minister’s cabinet, he held the positions of head of the Third Advisory and deputy head of the cabinet. Head of the Brazilian Army Commission and adjunct military attaché in Washington (USA); Army Staff cabinet head; commander of the 11th Armored Infantry Brigade; coordinator of the Military Observer Mission in the Ecuador/Peru conflict Peace Process; Army Staff deputy head; general secretary for the Army; head of the General Service Department, and Information Technology Secretary. Albuquerque was promoted to his current rank on March 31 2000. When named to be the Army commander, he held the position of military commander for the Southeast, headquartered in São Paulo city. He was decorated, among other medals, with the Military Merit Order, Naval Merit Order, Air Force Merit Order, Armed Forces Merit Order, Military Judiciary Order, the Rio Branco Order, the Gold Military Medal with Platinum Bodkin, the Peacemaker Medal, the Tamandaré Merit Medal, with the Santos Dumont Merit Medal and, also, with the Amazon Service Medal. He also received the following foreign decorations: Ecuador Armed Forces Star Medal; Joint Unity Merit and Merit Service Medals, both from the United States of America; and with the Peruvian Cross Military Merit medal. Born in Genoa, Italy, on April 7 1949, Mantega is a graduate in economics from the University of São Paulo's College of Economics and Business Administration. He was a professor of economics at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) School of Business Administration, hired in 1981. Mantega took his doctoral in Development Sociology at the University of São Paulo's College of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters, specializing at Sussex University's Institute of Development Countries (IDS), in England, in 1977. Professor of Economics for the São Paulo Catholic University (PUC-SP) Master's Degree and Doctoral program from 1984 to 1987, he was also the Budget Director and Chief of Staff for the São Paulo Municipal Planning Secretariat from 1982 to 1992. Mantega was a member of PT's Economic Program Coordination for the 1984, 1989, and 1998 presidential elections, and has been President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's Economic Advisor since 1993. Additionally, he was one of the coordinators for PT's Economic Program in the 2002 campaign. Mantega has published dozens of articles in magazines of the likes of Revista de Economia Política, Estudos CEBRAP, and Teoria em Debate. Published books: "Acumulação Monopolista e Crises no Brasil", Editora Paz e Terra, 1981; "A Economia Política Brasileira", Vozes, 1984; "Custo Brasil - Mito ou Realidade", Vozes, 1997; "Conversas com Economistas Brasileiros II", Editora 34, 1999, among others. Mantega was the Minister of Planning, Budget, and Management through November 18 2004, when President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva named him the President of the Development Bank (BNDES). On March 28 2006, he took-over the Minister of the Treasury position and, on April 3 2006, he was elected member of the Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (PETROBRAS), and Petrobras Distribuidora S.A. (BR) Boards of Directors.

Mr.Johannpeter has been the president of the Board of Directors of Gerdau Group, a steel company ranked 24th in its category in the world, since 1983.He is also the coordinator of A??o Empresarial Brasileira (Brazilian Corporate Action), an active non-governmental Brazilian organization related to developmental issues, leader of Programa Ga?cho da Qualidade e Produtividade - PQGP (Program for Quality and Productivity of the State of Rio Grande do Sul), which is a reference for the public and private sectors in the implementation of total quality management, and represents, in Brazil, the American Society for Quality (ASQ); president of Conselho do Pr?mio Qualidade do Governo Federal (Brazilian Government Quality Prize Council);member of the Board of Directors of Instituto Brasileiro de Siderurgia (IBS)(Brazilian Steel Institute); and chairman of the Board of Directors of A?o Minas Gerais - A?ominas. Jorge Gerdau Johannpeter was elected member of the Petr?leo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras), and Petrobras Distribuidora S.A. (BR) Boards of Directors, at the last Ordinary General Meeting.

Silas Rondeau Silva was born on December 15 1952, in Barra do Corda (MA). He is an electrical engineer graduate from the Pernambuco Federal University (UFPE), and specialized in Transmission Line Engineering at the Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UFRJ). On July 11 2005, he took over the position of State Minister of Mines and Energy. Silva was the president of Eletrobrás (2004-2005), Eletronorte (2003-2004), Manaus Energia (2000-2002), Companhia Energética do Amazonas (2000/2002), and of Boa Vista Energia (2002-2003). He started his career in the public sector at Companhia Energética do Maranhão (CEMAR), where he held several positions until being named the company's Technical and Distribution Director. A professor at the Maranhão Federal University (UFMA), Silva is on leave from that institution. Silas Silva was the Chief Executive Officer for Boa Vista Energia (BOVESA/2002-2003), an integral subsidiary of Eletronorte, a power generation and distribution utility at the Boa Vista municipality (RR). During that period, he also accumulated the position of Technical Director for BOVESA. He was also the Chief Executive Officer for Manaus Energia (MESA/2000-2002), an integral subsidiary of Eletronorte, a power generation and distribution utility at the Manaus municipality (AM). Silva was the Chief Executive Officer for the Companhia Energética do Amazonas (CEAM/2000-2002), a company that was federalized by Eletrobrás and is a power generation and distribution utility in the remaining 61 municipalities of the state of Amazonas.
