Dona D. Young is chairman, president and CEO of The Phoenix Companies, Inc. Mrs. Young joined Phoenix as an attorney in 1980 after serving as a summer law intern in 1979. She served the company in a series of increasingly responsible positions in law, reinsurance, sales and marketing, and operations and assumed her current role in 2003. Mrs. Young serves on several corporate and non-profit boards, including Phoenix, Foot Locker Inc., Wachovia Corp. and Hartford Hospital. She is also the recipient of numerous awards, including The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford's Dashaway Society Award, the Laura A. Johnson Woman of the Year by Hartford College for Woman and the Human Relations Award of the National Conference of Community and Justice. Mrs. Young holds bachelor's and master's degrees in political science from Drew University and a law degree from the University of Connecticut.

Jim Wehr is president and chief executive officer of The Phoenix Companies, Inc. He was appointed in April 2009 after serving as senior executive vice president and chief investment officer.
Mr. Wehr joined Phoenix in 1981 and held a series of increasingly senior investment positions, including credit research, trading and portfolio management. As chief investment officer, Mr. Wehr oversaw the life insurance company's general account and affiliated investment portfolios, directed the public fixed income group, and managed institutional client portfolios for Goodwin Capital Advisers, a Phoenix subsidiary.
Currently, he serves on the Board of the Greater Hartford YMCA and the Eastern Connecticut Healthcare Network, Inc.

Phil Polkinghorn is senior executive vice president, and president of Life and Annuity, of The Phoenix Companies, Inc. He is responsible for life, annuity and private placement functions including distribution, product and market development, underwriting and issue, customer service and life claims operations, state and federal regulatory filings, and actuarial finance. Mr. Polkinghorn joined Phoenix in March 2004 after serving as a vice president for the annuity business of Sun Life Financial Company. Chris Wilkos is executive vice president and chief investment officer of The Phoenix Companies, Inc. As chief investment officer, Mr. Wilkos sets investment strategy to ensure that Phoenix fulfills its obligations to customers. John LaGrasse is executive vice president and chief information officer for The Phoenix Companies, Inc. He is responsible for the company's information technology functions.

Peter Hofmann is senior executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Phoenix Companies, Inc. He is responsible for financial reporting, treasury, tax, enterprise risk management, strategic and financial planning, internal audit and investor relations.
Mr. Hofmann joined Phoenix in 2001 to develop and implement an investor relations program as the company completed its demutualization and initial public offering. Tracy Rich is executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Bonnie Malley is an executive vice president of The Phoenix Companies, Inc. She is responsible for Human Resources, Administrative Services, and Corporate Real Estate. She also has additional duties related to special corporate initiatives.

He is a Chartered Life Underwriter, a Chartered Financial Consultant, and a Certified Financial PlannerTM practitioner. He is also a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law section of the American Bar Association; a member of the Elder Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association; a member of the Trusts & Estates and Elder Law Sections of the New York Bar Association; and a member of the Estate and Business Planning Council of Hartford, Inc. Mr. Martin is active in the community as treasurer of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hartford, Connecticut. A veteran of the U.S. Army who holds a B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Mr. Martin received an LL.M in taxation from Boston University Law School, a J.D. from Seton Hall University Law School, and an M.B.A. from Oklahoma City University.
