Jansen's career took off at Metavante an outsourcing provider for banks where from 1984 98 she demonstrated the initiative and leadership skills to move from Buyer to Senior Vice President & CIO. Her next career step took her to Deluxe Electronic Payment Systems where as President & CEO she guided a then floundering company to achieve financial growth while increasing customer satisfaction. On the heels of that success, Janssen spearheaded a new start-up inside Deluxe Corporation as CEO of eFunds Corp. The business increased revenues by more than 30 percent while creating an operating increase of greater than 120 percent. Additionally, she has held the position of President & CEO at both Hallmark Cards, Inc./eBizmix.com and SurePayroll, Inc. Ms. Janssen is currently a private investor and serves as Chief Executive Officer of Balia Wellness Center, one of the private firms in which she has invested. From 2004 to 2006, she served as President of First Data Debit Services and the STAR Network. Dr. M. Lee Pelton, currently the 22nd President in the history of Willamette University, has had a more than 20-year career in academia at such institutions as Harvard University, Colgate University, and Dartmouth College. With his credentials as a student, faculty member, and senior administrator, he brings a unique perspective to the PLATO Learning board. The grandson of sharecroppers, Dr. Pelton graduated magna cum laude from Wichita State University with a double major in English and psychology. With a doctorate in English and American Literature and Languages from Harvard University, he went on to become Colgate University’s and later Dartmouth College’s first African American Dean. At both institutions, Dr. Pelton continued to serve as a Senior Lecturer and Professor of English. In his role as President of Willamette University, he personally secured General Colin Powell as the kickoff speaker to launch the institution’s multi-million dollar capital campaign. His opinions and ideas are regularly sought by the national media and academic publications. He also serves as a member of a number of leading education boards and committees, including the American Council on Education and the Harvard University Board of Trustees. In addition to his seat on the PLATO Learning board of directors, Dr. Pelton also serves on the boards of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the Oregon Symphony, and the Oregon College Savings Plan.

James T. Lynn joined PLATO Learning in May 2005 as the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. His primary responsibility is to analyze trends and utilize best practices to develop technologies that will make PLATO Learning the recognized industry leader of K–adult educational software. Most recently, Lynn was the Senior Staff Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin where he managed advanced technology research programs and initiatives. From 2001–03, he was the Vice President of Technology at Pearson Digital Learning where he oversaw the development of application software for the K–12 education market and was the driving force behind improved product quality. Over his 25 years of leadership experience, he has held senior engineering positions with ID Certify, Motorola, and Group Technologies Corp. (formerly Honeywell DCPD). Lynn is a graduate of the University of South Florida-Tampa where he earned a B.S. degree in electrical engineering.

Vin Riera became President & CEO of PLATO Learning in November 2008 after serving as the Company's Sr. Vice President of Sales and Services for nearly two years. David Braswell is an award-winning educator, leading researcher, devoted husband, and, most importantly, the father of three teen-age daughters - each of which is the reason for his longstanding commitment to the national education goal of Leaving No Child Behind. As the former founder and president of TeachMaster Technologies, Inc., and Vice-President of Education for PLATO Learning, Braswell has more than 24 years of experience in education and related research. He has spent over two decades designing and producing curriculum management software that has helped educators plan, design, and focus on standards-driven curriculum management and sound instructional decision-making, including the multi-product Standards ToolKit suite, Standards Record Keeping & Reporting , and PLATO Polaris . Educated at Western Carolina University, Braswell received a Bachelor of Science in Education with a K-12 Reading Certification in 1978, followed by a Master of Education in Administration in 1986. He has held teaching, building level and district level administrative positions in Georgia, North Carolina, South Dakota, and New Mexico. Current areas of interest for Braswell include policy analysis at the district and state levels. He currently sits on the Governing Board of Glendale Union High School District in Phoenix, Arizona and has been extensively involved with a number of legislative initiatives in recent sessions. Braswell was recently appointed by the governor as a member of the Joint Legislative Council for the Implementation of All Day Kindergarten.

John T. Kernan joined the Varsity Group Board of Directors in March 2002. Mr. Kernan holds a B.S. from Loyola College and has over 35 years of experience in the information technology industry, including numerous roles with Fortune 500 companies.
