As President and Chief Operating Officer of PMI Mortgage Insurance Co., David H. Katkov is responsible for the operations of The PMI Group's largest subsidiary, which is also the second largest mortgage insurance company in the United States. Katkov joined PMI in 1992 and has held a variety of marketing and related positions, including most recently Executive Vice President of Sales, Field Operations, and Product Development. Prior to joining PMI, he was a Vice President of US Bank Corporation in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Katkov is actively involved with non-profit organizations focused on housing-related issues. He is Vice Chairman of the board of Social Compact, a Washington, D.C. organization dedicated to promoting revitalization of America's inner cities. Previous board positions include the Chinatown Community Development Corporation, San Francisco and the Central Community Housing Trust, Minneapolis. Katkov holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in business from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management.

Chief Executive Officer,PMI Mortgage Insurance Ltd (PMI Australia)Group Senior Vice President, The PMI Group, Inc. Ian Graham is CEO of PMI Mortgage Insurance LTD (PMI Australia), a wholly owned subsidiary of The PMI Group, Inc., and Group Senior Vice President of The PMI Group, Inc. Graham has more than 35 years experience in the financial services and lenders mortgage insurance market in Australia and New Zealand. Graham was appointed Managing Director of MGICA Ltd in 1991 and appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2005. Prior to these appointments, Graham served as a company secretary, manager of finance and administration, and regional branch manager. Graham is a certified practicing accountant, a charted secretary, and a member of the Australian Computer Society and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Graham is also a member of the ICA Lenders Mortgage Insurers Standing Committee, an industry body whose membership includes representatives of Genworth, PMI, and Westpac lenders mortgage insurance companies, which together write in excess of 90 percent of all lenders mortgage insurance credit enhancement business in Australia.

Senior Vice President, Field Sales and National Accounts, PMI Mortgage Insurance Co. Pete Pannes is Senior Vice President, Field Sales and National Accounts, for PMI Mortgage Insurance Co., responsible for ensuring operational excellence with PMI customers nationwide. Pannes has more than 18 years combined experience in the mortgage and mortgage insurance industry. He joined PMI in 1990 as an Account Representative and was promoted to Account Executive in 1992. He was a key part of the PMI management team that in 1994 formed CMG Mortgage Insurance Company (CMG MI), PMI's joint venture with CUNA Mutual serving the growing credit union market. Pannes held several positions at CMG MI from 1994 to 2001, when he joined CUNA Mutual as Senior Vice President and General Manager of CMG MI. In 2004 he rejoined PMI as Vice President of National Sales-Division Manager, responsible for the management of all field sales and select national accounts for the Eastern U.S. Pannes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University.

Senior Vice President, Servicing Operations, Loss Mitigation and Claims, The PMI Group, Inc. W. Gene Campion is responsible for servicing operations, loss mitigation, and claims for PMI Mortgage Insurance Co. (PMI U.S.), a subsidiary of The PMI Group, Inc. Since joining PMI in 1981, Campion has held management positions in the areas of delinquencies, claims, marketing, and field sales and operations. Campion was also Senior Vice President of CMG Mortgage Insurance Company, a joint venture with CUNA Mutual Group that provides mortgage insurance to the credit union market. Campion has more than 30 years of experience in mortgage lending. Prior to joining PMI, he was Assistant Vice President of Servicing with World Savings and Loan Association, a California thrift institution. He began his eight-year tenure with World Savings in 1972. Campion is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America.

In her present capacity, Jill A. Showell is responsible for The PMI Group's domestic government relations operations. Based in Washington, D.C., Showell represents PMI before Congress and educates key figures in the political and policy-making process on PMI's business and its value proposition in the mortgage market. Additionally, Showell develops and executes legislative strategies in order to achieve needed policy objectives. Showell joined PMI with more than 20 years of mortgage finance industry experience in the Washington political and policy arena. Showell worked in the government relations department of Freddie Mac as Vice President of Government Relations, where she was responsible for executing a strategy to build political and public support for Freddie Mac's housing mission and also served as the chief liaison with Freddie Mac's business units to provide political risk management. She also served as the Director of Congressional Relations lobbying the company's interests before Congress. Prior to Freddie Mac, Showell worked as a Legislative Director at the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, representing the association on Capitol Hill on all mortgage finance issues. Showell also has experience working for Congressman Richard Lehman (D-CA), assisting him in his duties as a member of the Financial Services Committee, covering legislation relating to the housing and mortgage finance industry, and providing counsel on relevant legislation. Showell serves on the Board of the California State Society and is a long-time member of Women in Housing and Finance. Showell has B.S. in political science from the George Washington University.

As Vice President of Housing Advocacy, Taia Lockhart helps to build support for public policy positions, strengthen relationships with consumer, special interest, and affinity groups, and coordinate internal communications on housing initiatives. Lockhart joined PMI in 1997 as director of product development. Most recently, Lockhart served as Vice President of Expanding Markets and Marketing, where she focused on multi-cultural and affordable housing markets, as well as outreach to special interest and community groups. Prior to PMI, Lockhart was Vice President of Community Reinvestment Act Products and Programs at BankAmerica Mortgage, as well as Vice President of National Operations Support. Lockhart holds a B.A. in organizational leadership from Mid-Continent University.

As Head of Governmental Affairs, Christian Pierotti's responsibilities include developing PMI Europe's regulatory affairs strategy and directing all governmental lobbying efforts at the European Union and national levels. Pierotti is also responsible for development of national capital relief policies and expansion of covered bond loan eligibility. Pierotti came to PMI Europe from Comite Europeen des Assurances (CEA), the insurance industry's EU-level trade body. He undertook lobbying in both Europe and the United States, including the European Commission, Council and Parliament and at an international level at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors and World Trade Organization. Pierotti holds degrees in economics with a Master's in European and International management from Pantheon La Sorbonne in France. He also holds a management degree from the University of Wuppertal in Germany and speaks English, German, French, and Spanish.

As General Counsel and Company Secretary, Kate O'Loughlin is responsible for managing PMI's corporate governance, and company secretarial and legal requirements for PMI in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to joining PMI in 2003, O'Loughlin held senior positions at the law firms Freehill Hollingdale & Page, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, and Deutsche Asset Management (Australia) Limited. She has more than 17 years of professional legal and commercial experience.

Omaha, Neb., December 08, 2008 Union Pacific Corporation (NYSE: UNP) today announced that Jose H. Villarreal, 55, will become a member of the company's board of directors, effective January 1, 2009. Mr. Villarreal serves as an advisor to Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, LLP, a national law firm with offices around the country and overseas, including San Antonio, Texas, and Washington, D.C. He previously served as an assistant attorney general in the public finance division of the Texas attorney general's office. Mr. Villarreal currently serves on the board of directors of the PMI Group and First Solar, Inc. He served on the Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., board from 1998 2006. Mr. Villarreal also serves as a board member of the New America Alliance and Center for American Progress. He is a former chairman of the National Council of La Raza. In addition, he has held a number of senior roles in U.S. presidential campaigns. "Jose's experience on the governing boards of national organizations and large corporations coupled with his broad political background will allow him to bring a unique perspective to Union Pacific," said Jim Young, Union Pacific chairman, chief executive officer and president.
