Dow Jones Description

We are a leading designer and manufacturer of power conversion and power management products, primarily for the communications and server/storage infrastructure equipment, industrial applications, high-end consumer and industrial appliances, and renewable energy markets. Our products are used to convert, process and manage electrical energy, in both alternating current ("AC") and direct current ("DC") form, to the high levels of quality, reliability and precision required by communications infrastructure and other equipment. With hundreds of different standard products and the ability to create custom products, we have one of the most comprehensive product lines in the power conversion and power management industry and are one of just a few companies that can power virtually every component and system of an infrastructure network. In the renewable energy market, we sell high-efficiency inverters with a high degree of reliability primarily for roof-top solar applications and in 2008 we expanded our product line to include larger, central solar inverters. We plan to continue to invest to broaden our product line in renewable energy including the expansion of our offering for wind inverters. We design our products to take lower quality power from the electrical grid and convert, process, and purify it to meet the quality demanded by the markets we serve. Our products can provide protection against power disturbances, fluctuations and outages. ...

Paul McWilliams is the founder and editor of Next Inning Technology Research. McWilliams has over twenty-five years of experience in the semiconductor and high-tech industries, working with companies such as Linear Technology, Altera, Cypress Semiconductor, American Technical Ceramics, Arrow Electronics, Avnet, Micrel, Power-One, Siliconix, Xicor, and many others. After starting his career at Avnet in the mid-seventies, McWilliams left in 1977 to start his own company, MTS Inc., which contracted with various manufacturers to act as their exclusive representative for sales, marketing and application support. While at MTS, McWilliams was involved in a wide variety of products ranging from semiconductors to microwave sub-systems and even cesium timing standards (atomic clocks). When confronted with an opportunity to sell his stake in MTS Inc., McWilliams jumped at the chance to concentrate on investing full-time, something he began at the age of ten by making a smart bet on the initial public offering of ComSat. With the knowledge gained through years of direct field experience, a wide range of industry contacts and healthy a dose of common sense, McWilliams provides readers many with a better understanding of how technology moves through our economic system and ideas as to how they can optimize their investing profits while managing risks. It was this, and his folksy writing style, that led SmartMoney magazine to select him as one of the thirty most influential people in the world of investing. When not researching and writing about investing, McWilliams enjoys time with his family. He loves to travel and participate in outdoor activities. The entire McWilliams' family is active in a variety of community service projects supporting causes such as Project SOS, Hospice, mentoring inner-city children and coaching youth sports.
