  The Queensland government has selected Leighton Contractors as Queensland Rail's alliance partner to construct a 69km line to link the Goonyella and Newlands coal networks. The link will enable Goonyella coal to reach Abbot Point terminal instead of the terminals at Dalrymple Bay and Hay Point which are congested.
