Rinker group companies have operations in the US and Australia, supplying aggregate, cement, concrete, concrete block, asphalt, concrete pipe and other construction materials to over 34,000 valued customers. Rinker's US subsidiary Rinker Materials Corporation (Rinker Materials) which is number one or two in almost all of its markets. Rinker's Australian subsidiary, known as Readymix, is one of the top three Australian construction materials groups, with operations in every state and major city.

George became a member in 1979 at Johnson Controls working as a machine operator and a fork lift operator. Served over 13 years as a Shop Steward and was a member of the rank & file negotiations committee. George became an Organizer in 1993 as was selected as Assistant Business Agent/Organizer in 1995. In 1996 he was elected as a full time Business Agent. After being selected as Recording Secretary in 2005 he was elected in 2006.
