Transformer Maintenance Institute (TMI) is the educational arm of S.D. Myers, Inc. We have been educating customers since 1975 on how to get the maximum life from oil filled transformers. We conduct seminars and training, publish technical articles and author books all dealing with transformer and substation maintenance. Why do we offer these types of educational solutions? Many people think of that big metal box out in the substation as just a piece of equipment that transforms power. That's not altogether true! A transformer is a very complex device with many mechanical and chemical processes taking place all the time. What we offer you, the customer, is a chance to peer inside your transformer and see what's going on. Our seminars will help you to understand your transformers more thoroughly, enabling you to prevent premature failure and unplanned outages thereby saving you money. The cost of any of our seminars is a small fraction of the cost of equipment failure. What do we offer? We offer training courses--worth continuing education units from Kent State University--and published materials to better prepare you to make the decisions necessary in the overall formation of your transformer maintenance program.
