"Ken Juster joined salesforce.com in January 2005 as executive vice president of law, policy, and corporate strategy. His duties include overseeing legal matters, corporate development, global public policy and strategy, human resources, risk management, internal audit, and worldwide real estate and facilities. He is a member of the Company's executive committee and reports directly to salesforce.com Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff.
Juster has over 27 years of experience in government, law, business, and international affairs. He currently serves on the President’s Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. He previously served as U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce from 2001-2005, in charge of the Bureau of Industry and Security. In that capacity, Juster oversaw issues at the intersection of business and national security, including strategic trade controls, imports and foreign investments that affect U.S. security, enforcement of antiboycott laws, and industry compliance with international arms control agreements. He also founded and served as the U.S. Chair of the U.S.-India High Technology Cooperation Group, and was one of the key architects of the Next Steps in Strategic Partnership initiative between the United States and India. In addition, he was responsible for negotiating and signing the End-Use Visit Understanding between the United States and China that facilitated increased exports of U.S. high technology to China. Upon completion of his term at the Commerce Department, Juster received the Secretary of Commerce's William C. Redfield Award and Medal, the Commerce Department's highest honor.
Juster also served as the Counselor (Acting) of the U.S. Department of State from 1992-1993, and as the Deputy and Senior Adviser to Deputy Secretary of State Lawrence S. Eagleburger from 1989-1992. He was one of the key U.S. government officials involved in establishing and managing U.S. assistance programs to Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. He also was actively involved in policy matters relating to China, Japan, Latin America, Israel, and the Persian Gulf. Upon completion of his tenure at the State Department, Juster received the Secretary of State's Distinguished Service Award and Medal, the State Department's highest honor.
From 1981-1989 and 1993-2001, Juster practiced law at the firm of Arnold & Porter, where he became a senior partner and his work involved international arbitration and litigation, corporate counseling, regulatory matters, and international trade and transactions. Juster also served as a law clerk in 1980-1981 to Judge James L. Oakes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and worked at the National Security Council in 1978.
Among the awards that Juster has received are the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit in 2006 from the President of the Federal Republic of Germany (for contributions to U.S.-German relations); the Vasco Núñez de Balboa en el Grado de Gran Cruz Decoration and Medal in 2004 from the President of Panama (for contributions to U.S.-Panama relations); the 2004 Blackwill Award from the U.S.-India Business Council (for contributions to U.S.-India relations); and the 2002 and 2004 Friendship Awards from the U.S.-Panama Business Council (for contributions to U.S.-Panama relations). Juster also has published extensively on international economic and legal issues, including Making Economic Policy: An Assessment of the National Economic Council (Brookings Institution, 1997) and ""The Myth of Iraqgate"" in Foreign Policy magazine (Spring 1994).
Juster holds a law degree from the Harvard Law School, a Master's degree in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in government (Phi Beta Kappa) from Harvard College. He is a graduate of Scarsdale High School, where he was named in 2007 as one of its Distinguished Alumni. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, where he was a Visiting Fellow in 1993. He is a former AFS Exchange Student to Thailand (1971).

Shirley Young is President of Shirley Young Associates, LLC, a business advisory company for companies interested in business development in the China market. She also serves as senior adviser to General Motors-Asia Pacific. From 1988 until December 31, 1999, she served as corporate Vice President of General Motors Corp involved in development of GM's $1.5 billion joint venture in Shanghai. Her most recent assignment as Vice President for China Strategic Development and Asia Pacific Counselor included operational responsibility for marketing, distribution and sales in China. Earlier, she served as Vice President for Consumer Market Development at General Motors' headquarters, working across the various marketing divisions of the company. Prior to that, she spent over 20 years at Grey Advertising working in a wide range of industries with many of the world's leading marketers.
In addition to her expertise in brand development and consumer marketing, Shirley Young has served on the Board of Directors of the Bank of America, Bell Atlantic/Verizon Corporation, Dayton-Hudson Corporation, Holiday Inn/Promus/Harrah's and the Bombay Company. She also served as Vice Chairman of the Nominating Committee of the New York Stock Exchange. Ms. Young was appointed to the President's Commission on Executive Exchange and was a member of the Business Advisory Council for the U.S. State Department Agency for International Development.
She is governor and founding Chairman of the Committee of 100, a national Chinese American leadership organization, and serves as Chairman of the Committee of 100 Cultural Institute whose objective is to bridge the cultural gap between the U.S. and China through the arts and education.
In China, Ms. Young is an honorary professor of Tsinghua University, Beijing; Tongji University, Shanghai; and Huazhong Technology University, Wuhan; and honorary trustee of Jiao Tong University in Shanghai. In the U.S., she is a trustee of Interlochen Center for the Arts and has served as a trustee of Wellesley College and on the Board of Directors of the Associates of the Harvard Business School, and Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, as well as the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. She is a founding member of the Committee of 200, an international organization of leading businesswomen.
Ms. Young has received many awards for outstanding efforts in marketing and advertising. She was named Advertising Woman of the Year by the American Advertising Federation and received the Women's Equity Action Award for Achievement in Advertising. In 1998, Northwood University named her Outstanding Business Leader. Catalyst magazine awarded her the Catalyst Award for Outstanding Corporate Director and the Chinese-American Planning Council named her Woman of the Year. She received a Director's Choice Award from the National Women's Economic Alliance.
Born May 25, 1935, in Shanghai, China, Ms. Young is a 1955 graduate of Wellesley College, Phi Beta Kappa, and is a recipient of the Wellesley College Alumna Achievement Award. She has three sons — David Hsieh, William Hsieh and Douglas Hsieh.

Gordon Ritter is a Founder and General Partner of Emergence. He has spent over 15 years building companies which pioneered new markets including embedded web-based interfaces, server appliances, "On Demand" services for the SMB market and web-native application development. Prior to founding Emergence, Gordon was co-Founder and CEO of Software As Service, a Web services platform company he created with Marc Benioff, the Chairman and CEO of Salesforce.com. Software As Service is the origin of Salesforce.com's Force.com platform. Prior to forming Software As Service, he was Vice President of the $3 billion IBM Global Small Business division, created as a result of IBM's acquisition of his company, Whistle Communications in 1999. Gordon's division was responsible for partnerships with dozens of technology-enabled service companies as part of IBM's On Demand computing strategy. He led IBM's launch partnership with Salesforce.com. Prior to IBM, Gordon was co-Founder and President of Whistle, a pioneering Internet appliance and services platform for small and medium-sized businesses. Gordon has a B.A. in Economics from Princeton University.
