Samsung is giving American and Japanese electronics giants a run for their money. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (Korea: SEC) was founded in 1938 and is headquartered in Jung-gu, Seoul, Korea. The company is one of the largest chip and electronics makers, offering a range of consumer products like TVs, DVD players, audio and video equipment, cameras, memory and chips, phones, and networking devices. The Company has annual revenue of about $84.2 billion and employs about 123,000 people. In March 2006 the company unveiled the world's first 8GB Hard Disk embedded smartphone (model: SGH-i310).
