Throughout the ensuing generations, San Antonio has remained dedicated to the highest quality patient care and has been closely tied to the communities we serve. Many of our employees were born here, and some of their parents and grandparents have worked here. Dr. Shah graduated from Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda, India. He earned his doctor of medicine at the Government Medical College in Baroda, India, in 1976. He completed a fellowship in skeletal trauma-orthopaedics at Boston City Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He then completed his orthopaedic residency at Elyria Memorial Hospital in Elyria, Ohio, an affiliate of Case Western Reserve University. He has extensive experience working with industrial injuries. He is a published writer on orthopaedics and has performed research at Cleveland Research Institute. He is an active surgeon on the staff at San Antonio Community Hospital and currently chairs the department of surgery. He previously served as chair of the division of orthopaedics committee in 2000. He has served in various hospital leadership capacities since 1992. Dr. Shah has been in private practice since 1983 and has practiced at Upland Orthopaedic Medical Group since 1996. His interests include total joint replacement with minimal incision techniques and sports medicine. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Kolesnik received his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California, graduating summa cum laude. He was member of Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to earn his doctor of medicine from the University of Southern California in 1979. He completed both his internship and residency at the Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. He also served in the United States Air Force for four years and received an honorable discharge. Dr. Kolesnik specializes in both orthopaedic surgery and hand surgery. He is an active surgeon on the staff at San Antonio Community Hospital. He has given presentations on orthopaedics to various organizations, such as the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Chicago and the Arthritis Foundation in Riverside, California. He is a published author on orthopaedics.
