Sandy Spring Bancorp is the second largest publicly traded banking company headquartered in Maryland. Sandy Spring is a community banking organization that focuses its lending and other services on businesses and consumers in the local market area. Independent and community-oriented, Sandy Spring Bank was founded in 1868 and offers a broad range of commercial banking, retail banking and trust services through 42 community offices in Anne Arundel, Carroll, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery, and Prince George's counties in Maryland, and Fairfax and Loudoun counties in Virginia. Hunter Hollar is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sandy Spring Bancorp, Inc. and its subsidiary Sandy Spring Bank. He has served on the Board of Directors since his hire in 1990 and is presently the only inside director. Mr. Hollar joined Sandy Spring Bank as President and Chief Operating Officer in December 1990 and assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer in 1994. Under his leadership, Sandy Spring has grown from $500 million in assets to $3.2 billion, from 10 branch offices to 42, and from a single commercial bank to a financial services organization incorporating subsidiaries for insurance, equipment leasing, and asset management. Mr. Hollar's banking career spans over 30 years with an emphasis in commercial lending and general management. Prior to joining Sandy Spring he was Senior Credit Officer for Dominion Bank of Richmond in Virginia. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia and a MBA from James Madison University. Mr. Hollar is a past Chairman of the Maryland Bankers Association and is currently serving a three year term as a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.

Frank Small was hired by Sandy Spring in 1990 as Vice President & Retail Branch Administrator. He was promoted to the executive management team in 1994 and was named Chief Operating Officer in 2002. Mr. Small's banking career began in 1969 with a small community bank and progressed to Vice President and Manager of Branch Operations at the former Maryland National Bank before joining Sandy Spring. Bateman has over 30 years of local commercial and retail banking experience, having held a variety of senior management positions since 1978 with M&T Bank and its predecessor institutions Allfirst and First National Bank of Maryland.
