SciClone Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Israel Rios, M.D. has served as Chief Medical Officer since joining SciClone Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in October 2005. Dr. Rios has over 25 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Dr. Rios is responsible for the design and oversight of all clinical trials and the evaluation of new development candidates. From 2003 to 2005 he served as Vice President of Clinical Affairs for Dendreon Corporation and was responsible for all clinical and operational activities related to the development of late-stage immunotherapeutic candidates for androgen independent prostate cancer (AIPC) and advanced breast cancer. From 1993 to 2000, Dr. Rios was at Berlex Laboratories (the U.S. affiliate of Schering AG of Germany) most recently as Vice President of Oncology Development. From 1984 to 1993, Dr. Rios was Director of Anti-Infective Clinical Research at Marion Merell Dow, Inc. where he directed the clincal development and helped manage the New Drug Application (NDA) submissions of several anti-infective products. From 1978 to 1984, Dr. Rios held several escalating positions at Bristol-Myers, most recently as Director of Clinical Research. Dr. Rios earned his M.D. degree at the Central University of Venezuela. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, and his fellowship in infectious diseases at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut.

Rolf H. Henel has been a Director since June 1997. Mr. Henel has been a partner of Naimark & Associates, consultants to the health care industry, since 1994. Mr. Henel was a director and Treasurer of Bergen Community Blood Services from 1999 to 2005, Chairman of its Foundation from 2001 to 2004, and is the President of the Northern New Jersey Chapter of the American Association of Individual Investors. From 1978 to 1993, Mr. Henel was with American Cyanamid Company, most recently as President of Cyanamid International, Lederle Division. Mr. Henel was a director and Chief Operating Officer of Immunomedics, Inc. from 1996 to 1997. Mr. Henel holds a M.B.A. from New York University and a B.A. from Yale University. Mr. Henel is also a director of Penwest Pharmaceuticals Co., a pharmaceutical company, and Draxis Health Inc., a pharmaceutical company.

Mr. Lapointe joined the Company s Board of Directors in July 2005. Mr. Lapointe is Chief Operating Officer of Sigma-Tau Pharmaceuticals, Inc. of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Sigma-Tau Pharmaceuticals is the U.S. subsidiary of Sigma-Tau Finanziaria SpA of Rome, Italy. Mr. Lapointe joined Sigma-Tau in September 2001 as Vice President, Finance. In August 2002, he became Vice President, Operations, and in November 2003 he was elected Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Sigma-Tau, Mr. Lapointe was Vice President, Operations and Vice President, Controller of AstenJohnson, Inc. (formerly JWI Inc.) of Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Lapointe is a member of the corporate council of the National Organization for Rare Diseases (NORD), the Child Neurology Foundation and Kidney Care Partners. Mr. Lapointe holds a B.S. degree in commerce from Concordia University (Montreal, Canada), a graduate diploma in accountancy from McGill University (Montreal, Canada), and an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. He is a certified public accountant and a chartered accountant (Canada).

Professor Trevor Jones CBE PhD DSc FKC FPS CChem FRSC MCPP FFPM has been Chairman of ReNeuron since February 1999. He recently retired as Director General of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), the body representing the interests of some 100 national and international pharmaceutical companies. He was, until 1994, the Main Board Director responsible for Research and Development at Wellcome plc. He was responsible for the development of a number of significant new products at Wellcome, including Zovirax (anti-herpes), Retrovir (anti-HIV), Malarone (Malaria) and Lamictal (anti-epileptic). He is visiting professor, Deputy Chair of Council and Fellow of Kings College London, and is a member of the Board of Allergan Inc.
