SCOLR uses its proprietary CDT platform to develop extended release solid oral pharmaceutical medications and nutritional supplements. The Company markets its dietary supplement products through private label retailers in the U.S. and partners with industry leaders for the marketing and business development of its pharmaceutical and OTC products and services internationally. The Company's technology platform is based on a portfolio of drug delivery patents. Its platform offers lower cost, ease of formulation and scale up advantages over competing technologies. SCOLR's first technology was licensed from Temple University in 1998 and since then has expanded to include three patented drug delivery technologies applicable to a wide variety of common and challenging classes of drugs and nutritional ingredients (U.S. patent Nos. 6,090,411; 6,337,091; 6,517,868; 6,936,275; 7,229,642; and Patents pending). Founded in 1983 as BioTechniques Laboratories, the Company's original mission was to research and manufacture probiotic strains for human and animal use. SCOLR became a publicly traded corporation in 1995 and expanded into product formulation and drug delivery in 1998. On December 31, 2003, the Company has divested itself of its nutraceutical and probiotic businesses to become a fully-focused specialty pharma company commercializing its broadly applicable CDT platform of drug delivery technologies. ...
