Mr. Gleeson became President and Chief Executive Officer and a director in May 1999. He joined Ventana in March 1999 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Gleeson was Senior Vice President of Bayer Diagnostics, General Manager of the U.S. Commercial Operations for Chiron Diagnostics and prior to that, the founder, owner, and Managing Director of Australian Diagnostics Corporation, a leading diagnostics distributor in Australia.
Mr. Hendrick joined Ventana in August 1998 and is currently the Senior Vice President of Systems Discovery and Development. From April 1990 to August 1998, Mr. Hendrick held various product development management positions with Abbott Laboratories, Diagnostics Division, most recently as the Director of the Architect Research & Development Program. Mr. Hendrick holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Mr. Tucker joined Ventana in April, 2005. Mr. Tucker has 27 years of corporate counsel experience. Prior to joining Ventana, he was an Assistant General Counsel at The Dow Chemical Company with legal responsibility for human resources, regulatory, operations, and certain litigation matters. Mr. Tucker was General Counsel and Secretary of Midland Cogeneration Venture in 1993-1994; and General Counsel and Secretary of Dow-United Technologies Composite Products, Inc. from 1989-1992. He earned a B.A. degree from Michigan State University and a J.D. degree from Duke Law School.

Mr. Miller originally joined Ventana in 1988 as acting CEO and Vice President of Research and Development. Prior to his joining Ventana, Mr. Miller held management positions with Abbott Laboratory's Research and Development division. From 1994 to 2002, Mr. Miller held senior management positions in R&D at Nichols Institute Diagnostics, a Division of Quest Diagnostics. Mr. Miller returned to Ventana in September 2002 and is currently Vice President of Life Sciences Research and Development. Mr. Miller holds a BS in Chemistry from the University of Indiana.
Dr. Grogan is the founder and current Chief Medical Officer at Ventana. He has served as a director of the Company since its formation in June 1985. Since 1979, Dr. Grogan has been on the faculty of the University of Arizona where, in addition to his role at Ventana, he is currently a Professor of Pathology in the College of Medicine. He is a member of the Lymphoma Biology Committee and founding member of the International Lymphoma Study Group, which formulated the current classification scheme for clinical practice. Dr. Grogan received his BA with distinction (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Virginia in 1967 and his MD (AOA, 1971) from the George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed a post-doctorate fellowship in hematopathology at Stanford University.

Mr. Cusack brings to HTG invaluable experience gained in two previous life science start-ups, CYTYC and Ventana Medical Systems, where he was responsible for marketing, building and training sales forces, customer support groups creating international distribution networks, as well as building sales and revenues prior to each company's IPO. Over his career, Mr. Cusack also has extensive product development, sales and marketing experience in Europe as the General Manager of European Operations at CYTYC, and in domestic and international sales at Abbott Laboratories' Diagnostics Division. Mr. Cusack has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware and an MBA from Temple University in Philadelphia.
Jack W. Schuler has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Stericycle, Inc. since January 1990 until August 2008, when he was appointed Lead Director. From January 1987 to August 1989, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Abbott Laboratories, a diversified health care company which he joined in 1972 and where he held a number of management and marketing positions and served as a director from April 1985 to August 1989. He serves as chairman of the board of directors of Ventana Medical Systems, Inc., and as a director of Medtronic, Inc. and Quidel Corporation, a leader in point-of-care rapid diagnostic tests. He is the co-founder of Crabtree Partners, a private investment partnership in Lake Forest, Illinois, which was formed in June 1995. Mr. Schuler received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University and an M.B.A. degree from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Administration.

Mr. Weersing has served as a director of Ventana since October 1994. Since 1984, Mr. Weersing has been a Managing Director of MBW Venture Partners, a venture capital investment firm. Mr. Weersing has also served as President of JRW Technology, Inc., a consulting firm and, since January 2000, President and CEO of lomed, Inc. Mr. Weersing received a BSME and an MBA from Stanford University.
John brings to our team extensive private equity experience, both from a consulting and from a principal investing perspective. His knowledge and wide professional network augments Bristlecone's ability to provide our clients with the highest level of portfolio management and alternative manager research. In his role as a Consultant with McKinsey, John primarily serves private equity and technology firms' practices. He focuses on advising financial and technology companies on a myriad of strategic issues, ranging from strategic due diligence to sales and marketing. Prior to McKinsey, John served as an Associate at Madrona Venture Group, a venture capital firm focused on early-stage technology investments, where he was responsible for sourcing and evaluating deals as well as serving as an advisor to portfolio companies. John has also worked in the investment banking groups at Goldman Sachs and Robertson Stephens. John graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan. He also received a master's degree in business administration, with honors, from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

From 1974 until his retirement in 2002, Mr. Brown held various sales, marketing and management positions at Abbott Laboratories, a diversified health care company, where he served as a senior vice president and the president of the diagnostics division from 1998 to 2002 and as corporate vice president for worldwide commercial operations from 1993 to 1998. He is a director of Quidel Corporation, a developer and manufacturer of point-of-care diagnostic tests, and Cepheid, a molecular diagnostics company. Mr. Brown received a B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
