Simpson Manufacturing Co., Inc., a Delaware Corporation, (the Company), through its subsidiary, Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. (Simpson Strong-Tie or SST), designs, engineers and is a leading manufacturer of wood-to-wood, wood-to-concrete and wood-to-masonry connectors, SST Quik Drive screw fastening systems and collated screws, stainless steel fasteners, and pre-fabricated shearwalls. SST Anchor Systems also offers a full line of adhesives, mechanical anchors, carbide drill bits and powder actuated tools for concrete, masonry and steel. SST is the Companys connector products segment. The Companys subsidiary, Simpson Dura-Vent Company, Inc. (Simpson Dura-Vent or SDV), designs, engineers and manufactures venting systems for gas, wood, oil, pellet and other alternative fuel burning appliances. The Company markets its products to the residential construction, light industrial and commercial construction, remodeling and do-it-yourself (DIY) markets. SDV is the Companys venting products segment. The Company believes that SST benefits from strong brand name recognition among architects and engineers who frequently specify in building plans the use of SST products, and that SDV benefits from strong brand name recognition among contractors, dealers, distributors and SDVs relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to which SDV markets its products. Jennifer Chatman is the Paul J. Cortese Distinguished Professor of Management at the Haas School of Business and the faculty director of the Haas School of Business PhD Program. Her research and consulting work focus on the business advantages of leveraging organizational culture and leading change. Dr. Chatman has acted as a consultant to a variety of organizations including Arthur Andersen, Citigroup, The Coca-Cola Company, Fannie Mae, Franklin Templeton, Freddie Mac, Gallo Winery, Genentech, Pacific Gas & Electric, Kaiser-Permanente, the US Postal Service and the US Treasury. She was the Marvin Bower Fellow at the Harvard Business School (2001-02) and the Harold Furst Associate Professor of Management Philosophy and Values at the Haas School of Business (1999-2002). From 1987-1993, Professor Chatman was a faculty member of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Her research has been highlighted in Business Week, the Financial Times, Fortune, Inc., The Jungle, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Los Angeles Times and Working Mother. She has appeared on CNN, NPR and CBS news programs.

Sunne Wright McPeak has been President & CEO of the Bay Area Council since November 1996. Prior to her current position, she served for three years as President & CEO of the Bay Area Economic Forum, a partnership of the Bay Are Council and the Association of Bay Area Governments, that was formed in 1988 as a catalyst for collaborative action to ensure and enhance the region's economic vitality. Before joining the Bay Area Economic Forum, Ms. McPeak was a member of the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors for more than 15 years, first elected in 1979. Earlier in her career, she owned a management consulting firm, served as Executive Director of the Pittsburgh Community Health Center, and was a consultant to the Contra Costa Comprehensive Health Planning Association. She is on the board of directors of Simpson Manufacturing, Inc., and BRIDGE Housing Corporation, and is a former director of First Nationwide Bank.
