Socket Communications

Mr. Ott is responsible for Socket's strategic technical direction and also manages the company's internal IT infrastructure. Joining Socket in March, 1994, he has held increasingly responsible positions from Senior Software Engineer to Director of Software Development. Formerly, he served as Vice President of Research and Development with Vision Network Systems. Mr. Ott is active in the Bluetooth Special Interest Group and is currently a member of the Radio Working Group. Mr. Ott also serves on the Board of Directors for the CompactFlash Association and is currently Technical Co-Chair. Additionally, Mr. Ott serves on the Board of Directors of the Secure Digital (SD) Association and is acting Chair. He holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.

Mr. Miller is responsible for leading Socket's engineering operations, providing connection products for mobile computers and other electronic devices. He previously served as Chief Technical Officer of 3rd Rail Engineering, an engineering design and services company that was acquired by Socket in October, 2000. Mr. Miller also worked at Synaptics, Inc., "human interface solutions" design and manufacturing company, where he was co-inventor of the Synaptics touchpad and was issued eight patents for his work. Mr. Miller holds a B.S. degree with honors from the California Institute of Technology.

Leon Malmed holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Paris; he attended the Stanford Business School Senior Executive Program for Management of High Technology Companies. He has held Executive positions with High Technology Companies such as Quantum, Maxtor, Syquest and SanDisk. He is a Board Member of Adtron Corp., Socket Communications and on the board of advisors of FormFactor Inc. and Nanochip Inc.
