In November 2007, we acquired all of the outstanding stock of Florida Rock Industries, Inc. (Florida Rock) in a series of mergers, collectively referred to as the Florida Rock merger. Unless otherwise noted, all information presented in this report regarding Vulcan includes the consolidated results of Florida Rock. We provide the basic materials for the infrastructure needed to drive the U.S. economy. Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, we are the nations largest producer of construction aggregates, primarily crushed stone, sand and gravel, a major producer of asphalt mix and concrete and a leading producer of cement in Florida. We are a New Jersey corporation that was incorporated on February 14, 2007.
