Service Corp. International

Thomas L. Ryan was elected Chief Executive Officer of Service Corporation International in February 2005 and has served as President of SCI since July 2002. Mr. Ryan joined the Company in June 1996 and served in a variety of financial management roles until November 2000, when he was asked to serve as Chief Executive Officer of European Operations based in Paris, France. In July 2002, Mr. Ryan returned to the United States where he was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of SCI. Before joining SCI, Mr. Ryan was a certified public accountant with Coopers & Lybrand LLP for eight years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Ryan serves on the Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Ryan also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Texas Gulf Coast United Way where he chaired the Young Leaders Campaign and served on the Finance and Audit Committee. Mr. Ryan is a member and Chapter Secretary of the Young Presidents Organization. Mr. Ryan also serves on the University of Texas McCombs Business School Advisory Council and on the JPMorgan Chase Houston Regional Advisory Board.

Eric D. Tanzberger was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in June 2006, and was named Treasurer in July 2007. Mr. Tanzberger joined the Company in August 1996 and held various management positions prior to being promoted to Corporate Controller in August 2002. Before joining SCI, Mr. Tanzberger served as Assistant Corporate Controller at Kirby Marine Transportation Corp., an inland waterway barge and tanker company. He also served at Coopers and Lybrand LLP. Mr. Tanzberger holds a bachelor's in business administration from the University of Notre Dame.

Michael R. Webb was elected Chief Operating Officer of Service Corporation International in February 2005 and has served as Executive Vice President of SCI since July 2002. Mr. Webb joined the Company in 1991 when SCI acquired Arlington Corp., a regional funeral and cemetery consolidator where he served as Chief Financial Officer. In 1993, Mr. Webb joined the Company's corporate development group, which he later led on a global basis before accepting operational responsibility for SCI's Australian and Hispanic businesses. Prior to joining Arlington Corp., Mr. Webb held various executive financial and development roles at Days Inns of America and Telemundo Group Inc. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Georgia.

Mr. Jacobs joined the Company in 2007 as CMO to direct the strategic marketing development for SCI’s North American network of funeral homes and cemeteries. In this role, he leads the Company’s effort to grow sales and margins by enhancing SCI’s brand identity, generating pre-need sales, improving customer satisfaction, and ensuring that products and services at all locations are specifically designed and properly communicated for the needs of their respective communities. Jacobs brings more than 23 years of experience in retailing and marketing communications to his position, including CMO and other management roles at several of the nation’s top advertising agencies as well as client-side positions. An instrument-rated pilot and a well-known speaker at national marketing events, Jacobs holds a B.S. from the University of Tennessee and Master’s from Vanderbilt University.

J. Daniel Garrison was appointed Senior Vice President, Operations Support, in February 2005. Mr. Garrison joined SCI in 1978 and served in a series of management positions; in 1992, he was appointed President of SCI's Southeastern Region. In 1998 he was named Corporate Vice President of International Operations. Mr. Garrison was asked to serve as Vice President, North American Cemetery Operations in 2000, and Vice President, Operations Services in 2002, a position he held until February 2005. He holds a bachelor's degree in administrative management from Clemson University.

Stephen M. Mack was appointed Senior Vice President, Middle Market Operations, in May 2004. Mr. Mack joined the Company in 1973 as a resident funeral director. In 1984, he was appointed District Manager, Southeast Region. He became Vice President, Eastern Region, in 1986, then Regional President in 1992. Mr. Mack was elected to the position of Corporate Vice President in 1998 and, in August 2002, he was appointed Senior Vice President, Eastern Operations, a position he held until May 2004. He graduated from Farmingdale State University of New York.

Sumner James Waring III was promoted to Senior Vice President, Major Market Operations, in February 2006. Mr. Waring joined SCI in 1996 as Area Vice President of Operations when SCI acquired his family's funeral business. He was appointed President of the Northeast Region in 1999 and President of the Pacific Region in September 2001. In September 2002, Mr. Waring was appointed Vice President, Western Operations, a position he held until May 2004 when he was appointed Vice President, Major Market Operations. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Stetson University, a degree in mortuary science from Mount Ida College, and a master's in business administration from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Mr. Lohse joined SCI in 2000 as Managing Director of Litigation and has since been involved in the resolution of major litigation issues for the Company. In 2004, Mr. Lohse was promoted to Vice President Corporate Governance. Before joining the Company, Mr. Lohse was Managing Partner at McDade, Fogler, Maines & Lohse where he conducted a general civil trial practice. Prior to that, he practiced tort and commercial litigation at Fulbright & Jaworski. Mr. Lohse received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas and a juris doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center.

Elisabeth G. Nash was appointed Vice President, Continuous Process Improvement, in August 2004. Ms. Nash joined SCI in 2002 as Managing Director of Strategic Planning and Process Improvement and led the redefinition of SCI's field and home office processes and systems. Her primary responsibilities include improving operating systems, reducing overhead costs, and identifying and assisting in the implementation of initiatives to improve operating profit margins and recurring operating free cash flow. Before joining SCI, Ms. Nash served Pennzoil Corp. in various senior management accounting and financial positions. She holds a bachelor's of business administration in accounting from Texas A&M University.

Mrs. Jones joined SCI in 2003 from Dynegy, Inc., where she served as Vice President of Total Rewards. She oversees human resources, training and education, and payroll and commission services activities that assist approximately 20,000 employees in North America. Mrs. Jones was promoted to Vice President Human Resources in February 2005. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting with a minor in Finance from Southern Methodist University. She is a Certified Compensation Professional.

Jeff Beason joined SCI in July 2006 as Vice President and Corporate Controller. Prior to SCI, he was an employee of El Paso Corporation, a natural gas transmission and production company. Mr. Beason joined El Paso Corporation in 1978 and held various accounting and reporting roles until 1993. From 1993 to 1996, he held the position of Sr. Vice President Administration of Mojave Pipeline Operating Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of El Paso Corporation. From 1996 to November 2005, Mr. Beason was Sr. Vice President Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of El Paso Corporation. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Texas and holds a bachelor's of business administration in accounting from the Texas Tech University.

Joseph A. Hayes was appointed Vice President, Ethics and Business Conduct/Assistant General Counsel in November 2007. Mr. Hayes joined the Company in 1991 as corporate counsel. He was named Managing Counsel in 1996 and Assistant General Counsel in 2005. Prior to joining SCI, Mr. Hayes practiced law in Chicago and San Diego, specializing in securities, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial transactions. He received a bachelors degree in commerce with highest honors from DePaul University and earned his juris doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley.

Robert L. Waltrip is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Service Corporation International. He has provided invaluable leadership to the Company for more than 40 years. A licensed funeral director, Mr. Waltrip grew up in his family's funeral business, which he began to manage in the 1950s. He began buying additional funeral homes in the 1960s and achieved significant cost efficiencies through the "cluster" strategy of sharing pooled resources among numerous locations. The enterprise he began has now grown into a network of more than 1,200 funeral homes and 400 cemeteries in the United States and Canada. Mr. Waltrip holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Houston.

Ed Fasnacht came to Service International to work as a building consultant during the Great Flood of 1993. Since then, he's been an integral part of the SI team. Before joining the SI staff, Ed was a successful entrepreneur in both the commercial and non-profit sectors. He started two contracting businesses, two churches, and two benevolence outreach ministries that are still thriving today. In 1990, Ed took part in a church-construction mission trip to Mexico that changed his life forever. He learned on that trip that he could use his skills as a contractor and as a leader to help people in need all over the world. Now, with SI, he utilizes those skills and helps motivate others to develop and maximize the most of their talents.

Gregory Sangalis joined the Company in 2007 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. He previously served as Senior Vice President, Law and Administration for Team Inc., a leading provider of specialty industrial maintenance and construction services. Prior to that, Mr. Sangalis served as Managing Director and General Counsel of Main Street Equity Ventures II, a private equity investment firm, and as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Waste Management Inc., the leading provider of waste management services in North America. Mr. Sangalis holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Indiana University and a M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota. He earned his juris doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School where he graduated Cum Laude.

Patti Fasnacht has worked with her husband, Ed, to build two contracting businesses, a church, and two thriving benevolence outreach ministries. She joined the staff of St. Louis Family Church in 1994, and worked as receptionist, secretary, and clerk accountant until August 1999, when she joined the SI staff during the Kosova refugee crisis. Her keen understanding of international affairs and her experience with non-profit accounting make her an invaluable asset for Service International. Patti supports every SI project with book and recordkeeping, secretarial duties, and on-site project support. Patti also loves to spend time with SI volunteers as they come and go on outreach trips and she helps ensure that every participant has a life-changing experience.

Mr. Foyt achieved prominence as a racing driver who was the first four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500. His racing career spanned four decades and three continents-North America, Europe and Australia. Since his retirement from racing in 1994, Mr. Foyt has engaged in a variety of commercial and entrepreneurial ventures. He is the President and owner of A.J. Foyt Enterprises, Inc. (assembly, exhibition and competition with high-speed engines and racing vehicles), and has owned and operated car dealerships that bear his name. He has also been involved in a number of commercial real estate investment and development projects, and has served as a director of a Texas bank.

S. MALCOLM GILLIS, 65, University Professor, Rice University since 2004; President, Rice University, 1993-2004; Ervin Kenneth Zingler Professor of Economics, Rice University, 1996-2004; Professor of Economics, Rice University, 1993-2004; joined Halliburton Company Board in 2005; member of the Health, Safety and Environment, the Nominating and Corporate Governance and the Management Oversight Committees; Director of Service Corporation International, Introgen Therapeutics, Inc., AECOM Technology, Electronic Data Services Corporation and the Vietnam Education Foundation.

Trey Perry has spent most of his adult life in foreign lands as a Service International missionary. He has served in 30 nations throughout Eastern and Western Europe and Africa, residing in Germany for eight years. He was living near the Berlin Wall when it fell and was one of the first Americans to enter East Germany. Trey's experience in international travel and intercultural relations is invaluable to Service International. He has made several humanitarian trips throughout Eastern Europe, taking medicine, food, and financial assistance to those in need. Trey is based at SI headquarters in St. Louis but he travels extensively, planning outreaches, evaluating projects, and coordinating volunteers.

Mr. Lund was Vice Chairman of Albertson's, Inc. from June 1999 until June 2002. He served as Chairman of the Board of American Stores Company ($20 billion retailer – Jewel, Lucky, Osco, Savon, SAB, Acme) from June 1995 until its acquisition by Albertson's in June 1999, and as Chief Executive Officer of American Stores Company from August 1992 until June 1999. Mr. Lund is a director of Borders Group Inc., Del Monte Foods, Delta Air Lines, NCR Corporation, and Service Corporation International. Mr. Lund is the Chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee.

Mr. Waltrip held various positions with SCI from 1977 to 2000, including serving as vice president of corporate development, senior vice president of funeral operations, executive vice president of SCI's real estate division, Chairman and CEO of Service Corporation International (Canada) Limited (a subsidiary taken public on The Toronto Stock Exchange) and Executive Vice President of SCI. Mr. Waltrip's experience has provided him with knowledge of almost all aspects of the company and its industry with specific expertise in North American funeral/cemetery operations and real estate management. Since leaving SCI in 2000, Mr. Waltrip has been an independent investor, primarily engaged in overseeing family and trust investments. Mr. Waltrip is the son of SCI's founder, R. L. Waltrip.
