Eric Parsons was elected chief executive officer of StanCorp Financial Group, Inc. and Standard Insurance Company in 2003 following service as president and chief operating officer. He was appointed to StanCorp's board of directors in August 2002 and elected chairman in May 2004. In September 2008 he became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of StanCorp and Standard Insurance Company. Parsons joined Standard Insurance Company in 1968 and has served The Standard in numerous roles including chairman, president and chief executive officer, senior vice president and chief financial officer; vice president, Investments; and president of the company's Mortgage and Real Estate subsidiaries. He is a graduate of Lewis & Clark College, Northwestern University's School of Mortgage Banking and is a Fellow in the Life Management Institute. Parsons serves on the board of directors of the Oregon Business Council, Oregon Community Foundation and Oregon Historical Society. He also serves as vice chair of the board of trustees of the Oregon Health & Science University Foundation and is chairman of the Community Council of the OHSU Cancer Institute Council.

Scott joined The Standard in 2000 and served as Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development and as Assistant Vice President, Investor Relations and Financial Planning. Scott has a twenty-year foundation of financial management expertise in investor relations, corporate finance, corporate accounting and mergers and acquisitions. He is also Vice President of StanCorp Trust Company. Prior to joining The Standard, Scott served as the Director of Investor Relations at Flir Systems and PacifiCorp. Scott's prior experience also includes the position of Manager of Financial Reporting and Communications at NERCO, Inc. and Senior Accountant at Deloitte & Touche. Scott holds a CPA license in the State of Oregon and is a graduate of Oregon State University.

From 1994 to 2002, Ms. Stepp was principal and owner of Executive Solutions, a management consulting firm in Portland, Oregon. From 1989 to 1992, Ms. Stepp was President and Chief Operating Officer of Portland General Electric, an electric utility. Ms. Stepp is Chair of the Corporate Board of Providence Health System and also serves as a director of Planar Systems, Inc. and Franklin Covey Co. Ms. Stepp is Chair of the Organization & Compensation Committee and serves on the Finance & Operations Committee.

Since June 2007, Ms. Sammons has been chairman and chief executive officer of Rite Aid Corporation. From December 1999 to September 2008, Ms. Sammons also served as President of Rite Aid Corporation. She has been a member of Rite Aid's Board of Directors since 1999 and Chief Executive Officer since 2003. From January 1998 to December 1999, Ms. Sammons served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Fred Meyer Stores, Inc., which was purchased by The Kroger Company in April 1999. Ms. Sammons serves on the Audit and the Nominating & Corporate Governance Committees.

In April 2007, Dr. Kohler was named Vice Chancellor of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. From 1988 to September 2006, Dr. Kohler was President of Oregon Health & Science University, located in Portland, Oregon and is now President emeritus of that institution. He also served as a director of the Portland Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco through December 2006. Dr. Kohler serves on the board of iSense, a development stage company dedicated to the development and manufacture of a minimally-invasive continuous glucose monitor. Dr. Kohler serves on the Nominating & Corporate Governance and the Organization & Compensation Committees.

From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Fallis was the Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Everen Clearing Corporation, a securities execution and clearing company, and the Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Everen Securities, Inc., a national full service brokerage firm. Mr. Fallis is a director of Hines Horticulture, Inc., one of the largest commercial nursery operations in North America. Mr. Fallis serves on the Audit and the Nominating & Corporate Governance Committees.

In May 2007, Ms. Anderson was named President of the Safeco Insurance Foundation, a private charitable foundation established by Safeco Insurance in Seattle, Washington. From 1988 to April 2006, Ms. Anderson was the Director of the Seattle Center, a 74-acre, 31-facility urban civic center, located in Seattle, Washington. Ms. Anderson serves on the Audit and the Finance & Operations Committees.
