Eric Parsons was elected chief executive officer of StanCorp Financial Group, Inc. and Standard Insurance Company in 2003 following service as president and chief operating officer. He was appointed to StanCorp's board of directors in August 2002 and elected chairman in May 2004. In September 2008 he became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of StanCorp and Standard Insurance Company.
Parsons joined Standard Insurance Company in 1968 and has served The Standard in numerous roles including chairman, president and chief executive officer, senior vice president and chief financial officer; vice president, Investments; and president of the company's Mortgage and Real Estate subsidiaries.
He is a graduate of Lewis & Clark College, Northwestern University's School of Mortgage Banking and is a Fellow in the Life Management Institute.
Parsons serves on the board of directors of the Oregon Business Council, Oregon Community Foundation and Oregon Historical Society. He also serves as vice chair of the board of trustees of the Oregon Health & Science University Foundation and is chairman of the Community Council of the OHSU Cancer Institute Council.

Scott joined The Standard in 2000 and served as Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development and as Assistant Vice President, Investor Relations and Financial Planning. Scott has a twenty-year foundation of financial management expertise in investor relations, corporate finance, corporate accounting and mergers and acquisitions. He is also Vice President of StanCorp Trust Company. Prior to joining The Standard, Scott served as the Director of Investor Relations at Flir Systems and PacifiCorp. Scott's prior experience also includes the position of Manager of Financial Reporting and Communications at NERCO, Inc. and Senior Accountant at Deloitte & Touche. Scott holds a CPA license in the State of Oregon and is a graduate of Oregon State University.

In April 2007, Dr. Kohler was named Vice Chancellor of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. From 1988 to September 2006, Dr. Kohler was President of Oregon Health & Science University, located in Portland, Oregon and is now President emeritus of that institution. He also served as a director of the Portland Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco through December 2006.
