For fiscal 2007, Sharp's greenhouse gas emissions were approximately 1.76 million t-CO2. (Click here for more details.) In contrast, the estimated amount of electrical power generated in fiscal 2007 by solar cells manufactured by Sharp during the 20-year period from fiscal 1987 to 2006 was approximately 1,870 GWh. This is equivalent to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of approximately 0.77 million t-CO2. In addition, the amount of reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from the effect of customer use of energy-saving products was 0.60 million t-CO2. Belle Cramer has been working with people with disabilities for over thirteen years. She worked in residential, school and facility settings before finding her passion in vocational services. Belle volunteered as a resource counselor at a dining room in Marin for five years and was deeply affected by those with mental illness who were not receiving any housing or employment support services. They would simply come to eat and then wander back into the world, on their own. Belle is committed to spreading awareness to our homeless community of available vocational services while increasing their opportunities for meaningful employment. She does this by continuing to educate the business community how people with disabilities or other "barriers to employment" possess enormous and under utilized talent. Belle is currently the Assistant Director of "The Customized Employment Project" of Becoming Independent. As such, she supports people with disabilities through their job search or in starting their own business. She is also a committed volunteer for S.H.A.R.P. through Drug Abuse Alternatives Center, and is a member of the Mayor's Committee for the Employment of People with Disabilities. She lives in Sebastopol with her husband, two daughters and their dog.

Jon Clemens, Ph.D is the leader of Sharp Technology Ventures, an organization created to commercialize innovations and technologies developed at Sharp Laboratories of America. Dr. Clemens served as president and chief executive officer at Sharp Labs from the organization's founding until his retirement in 2003. During his tenure at Sharp Labs, Dr. Clemens grew the lab to include more than 275 employees. He structured the lab's research and development teams around the key areas of applied research that provided Sharp Corporation the most opportunity for innovation and market leadership in North America. These include six core departments, which over the past eight years have contributed directly to Sharp's category leadership in its product lines, including those for liquid crystal display-based televisions, mobile phones, communications devices and software. Prior to his leadership at Sharp Labs, Dr. Clemens held executive positions with other premier research organizations, including Sarnoff Corporation, SRI International, and RCA.
