John W. Combs brings extensive expertise in the voice market and an intimate understanding of how to quickly scale businesses with dynamic potential. Best known for leading the launch of Nextel's first digital wireless network, prior to ShoreTel, Combs was chairman and CEO of wireless infrastructure supplier Littlefeet. Prior to that, he was CEO of InternetConnect, a broadband networking solutions provider. As Southwest area president of Nextel from 1993-1999, he led the company in service revenue and positive cash flow every quarter while rolling out Nextel's first digital wireless network. As executive vice president of L.A. Cellular, he was responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing and customer care. Before joining the cellular industry, Combs spent 20 years in the PBX business. He was president of Mitel Inc. when the company was the volume leader in PBX shipments in North America and prior to that was division general manager for Fujitsu Business Communications. He began his career at Western Electric (now Lucent). Combs holds an engineering degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Ed Basart co-founded ShoreTel in 1996. He is responsible for the long-range direction of ShoreTel's product research and development. In addition to ShoreTel, Ed also co-founded two other prominent companies: Network Computing Devices, where he was vice president of engineering, and Ridge Computers, where he served as vice president of software. He began his career as a software engineer at Hewlett Packard. Basart, an Iowa native, holds a Bachelor's degree from Iowa State University and an M.S. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He and his son, Eric, are avid bike riders who have taken their shared passion throughout many parts of the world.

Mike Healy joined ShoreTel in 2007. He will be responsible for accounting, external reporting, investor relations, tax compliance, legal and all other financial and treasury functions. Healy has more than 20 years of experience in high technology corporate finance positions, along with "Big 4" public accounting experience. During his career, he has led the financial oversight of an initial public offering and the purchase and financial integration of eight strategic company acquisitions. Before joining ShoreTel, he served as CFO for Genesis Microchip, Inc., a leading supplier of display image processors in both the flat-panel TV and LCD monitor markets. In his tenure with Genesis Microchip, he led the successful initial implementation of internal controls required under Sarbanes-Oxley 404, as well as the expansion of international operations throughout Asia. Prior to Genesis Microchip, he held several executive finance positions for Jamcracker, Exodus Communications and Apple Computer. Healy began his career as an auditor at Deloitte & Touche. Healy holds a B.S. in accounting from Santa Clara University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Healy is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Rick Parkinson joined ShoreTel in May 2005. As CIO he directs the strategy and use of technology for ShoreTel's internal and external business operations. Parkinson is responsible for improving ShoreTel's business scalability and productivity through strategic technology investments, as well as improving channel partner business success through the use of ShoreTel technology solutions. Parkinson brings more than 25 years of IT experience to ShoreTel, serving in senior management and technology leadership roles. Before joining ShoreTel, he served as vice president at GlobalNetXchange, the world's largest retail focused application service provider (ASP), with responsibility for Web site operations supporting large auction and supply chain transactions. As vice president of technology operations at Cymerc Exchange, he led the development and operations of a business-to-business exchange. Parkinson also held senior management positions at Intuit and held a variety of management and technology positions at Lockheed-Martin and NCR. Parkinson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from California State University.

Donald J. Girskis joined ShoreTel in February 2008 and leads all of the company’s global sales efforts. Prior to ShoreTel, Girskis held a variety of executive positions, including a distinguished 15-year career at Sprint-Nextel. Most recently, as the senior vice president and general manager of Boost Mobile, Girskis grew the subsidiary from initial concept to more than a billion in revenue. While a general manager at Nextel, he directed growth of the company's largest regional market (Los Angeles Metroplex) with year 2000 revenues of $501 million. Prior to Sprint-Nextel, Girskis held positions with Businessland, CompuCom, and Los Angeles Cellular Telephone Company. Girskis has a B.A. in Business Administration from California State University at Fullerton.

Ava Hahn joined ShoreTel in June 2007 and is responsible for all legal matters. Before joining ShoreTel, she served as General Counsel and Secretary for Genesis Microchip, Inc., a leading supplier of display image processors. Prior to Genesis Microchip, she served as Director, Legal Affairs for a technology start-up. Ms. Hahn began her law practice with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a leading national law firm. Hahn holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dale Tonogai joined the ShoreTel team in February of 1998. His primary responsibilities include leading the day-to-day R & D and engineering activities for the company. Tonogai has more than 16 years of experience in software engineering and engineering management. Prior to ShoreTel, the native of Hamilton, Canada held a multitude of senior-level software engineering management and individual contributor roles at various high-tech companies, including GEAC Computers, Hewlett Packard and Network Computing Devices. During his tenure with Network Computing Devices, Tonogai made significant contributions to the design and development of a protocol that became an industry standard. Tonogai holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and an M.S. in Computer Science from UC Berkeley.

Joe Vitalone, who has been a senior sales leader in a number of very successful telecommunications companies, joined ShoreTel in 2005. Vitalone began his sales career at Mitel and then entered the video conferencing market as the sales leader for PictureTel, followed by ViaVideo Communications (subsequently acquired by Polycom). Vitalone was the vice president of sales and business development for Polycom, driving their marketshare to 75% of the audio speaker phone market and 56% of the worldwide video conferencing market. Vitalone's team delivered over $225M in annual sales. Most recently, Vitalone was senior vice president of worldwide sales at Covi Technologies, a company that is designing the industry's first end-to-end HDTV surveillance equipment. Vitalone's extensive resume also includes sales and business development management positions at Siemens, AT&T Wireless, and Wire One Technologies. Vitalone holds a B.A. in Business and Public Relations from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY.

Kevin Gavin joined ShoreTel in October of 2007 and is responsible for product line management and marketing for all ShoreTel products. For over 25 years, Gavin has helped high-growth telecommunications companies achieve market-leading status in new market categories by delivering breakthrough products and services directly to businesses and consumers. Gavin's executive experience includes Chief Marketing Officer at GoBeam Communications, a VoIP-based hosted PBX service provider that was purchased by Covad Communications in 2004. Gavin was also Chief Marketing Officer at InternetConnect, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Softnet Systems, Regional VP at Teligent, Corporate VP of Marketing and Product Development at Nextel Communications, and Regional VP of Marketing at McCaw Cellular. Gavin is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He also attended the Executive Education Program at Stanford University.

Mark Arman joined ShoreTel in November 2006 and heads ShoreTel's business development efforts. Mark has over 10 years of direct industry experience. Prior to ShoreTel, Arman was founding CEO and vice president of marketing at WindSpring. There he provided executive leadership and oversight of all engineering, product management, product development, sales and marketing activities, and orchestrated the completion of all venture finance requirements. Prior to WindSpring, Arman was the CEO of Conferserv, where he successfully closed multiple rounds of financing, repositioned the company as a leader in the emerging market for IP enterprise video conferencing and collaboration, and eventually directed the company's merger with 4/21 Interactive. Arman has a Graduate Diploma in Military Avionics from the Royal Australian Air Force Academy, a Master of Aerospace Engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Melbourne.

Walt Weisner joined ShoreTel in July 2005. Weisner comes to ShoreTel with over 20 years of telecommunications experience and is responsible for the company's growing global support services including the technical assistance center, professional services, ShoreTel University, customer support and customer satisfaction programs. Prior to ShoreTel, Weisner served as vice president of global support services for WebEx Communications where he was responsible for worldwide call center operations, account management, installed base revenue programs and overall customer satisfaction. Prior to joining Webex, Weisner held the position of executive vice president of operations and support for InternetConnect, a nationwide ISP providing Virtual Private Networks for the SME market. Weisner also served as senior director of customer operations and support for Nextel Communications Southwest region, and he has held positions in product management and product development. Weisner holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University.

Mark Swendsen relocated to the UK in 2007 to take up the role of managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Leveraging his extensive knowledge of ShoreTel's enterprise IP telephony solutions, Mark is spearheading ShoreTel's growth in EMEA. Specifically, Mark is focused on working closely with ShoreTel's partner ecosystem to achieve world-class customer satisfaction across the region. Prior to taking up this position in Europe, Mark was regional director for ShoreTel's West U.S. region, where he sold and managed many of ShoreTel's largest and most successful accounts. Mark joined ShoreTel from Ketchum Integration, where as president he became ShoreTel's first value added reseller (VAR) and for three years running was the company's no.1 channel partner by revenue. Mark holds a Bachelors in English and a Masters in Education, both from Santa Clara University.

Don is a highly experienced Sales & Marketing Manager who came to DataComm 16 years ago and has been an integral part of DataComm's growth from a Cable Assembly company to the full service Systems Integration powerhouse of today. He came to DataComm from Telecredit (now a Fidelity Information Services Div.) where he was VP responsible for National Expansion culminating in setting a company sales record of 10,000 new accounts in a single month. Don holds a business degree from the University of Southern California.

Kathy is our Accounting and Human Resource Manager and is an invaluable member of our management team. Because of her 16+ years experience with us, Kathy has the ability to address a wide variety of organizational issues including Legal Compliance, Employee Benefit Design (University of South Florida, Human Resource Certification), Computer Conversion and Performance Planning and Management. Thanks to Kathy's hardworking and conscientious management style, she has helped DataComm "walk the talk" as a Systems Integrator by implementing fully computerized in-house Accounting, Purchasing and Human Resources processes.

Mark is a highly experienced Accounts Manager who came to DataComm this year. Mark makes his home in Tampa Bay and has extensive experience in consulting clients in the area of VoIP migration strategies and matching up Carriers to meet client current and future telecom needs. Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and is Sales Certified in the ShoreTel IP Phone System, the fastest selling pure IP phone system in the world.

DataComm was founded over 22 years ago discovering a niche market in custom computer cables for large mainframes and Miguel was hired that year as DataComm's first Production Manager. His skill in quality control, design and database inventory management, set the tone for all new managers as DataComm opened new departments as the company grew into its present size.

Brian K. Paul is a managing director in Private Equity and a partner in Lehman Brothers Venture Partners. Prior to joining Private Equity in 1999, Mr. Paul worked in Lehman Brothers' Global Technology and Healthcare Investment Banking Groups, in New York, London and Los Angeles. Within these investment banking groups, Mr. Paul was responsible for public and private equity offerings as well as strategic advisory assignments. Before joining Lehman Brothers in 1994, Mr. Paul was an associate at First Boston where he was responsible for the purchase and sale of mortgage loan portfolios. He currently is a director of AOptix Technologies, Creekpath Systems, Elemental Security, Isilon Systems, Meru Networks and ShoreTel Communications, and is a board observer of Egenera. He was previously a director of E2O Communications, Inc., sold to JDSU. Mr. Paul holds an M.B.A. with distinction from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Charles D. Kissner has served as a director of our company since July 2000 and as Chairman of our Board of Directors from March 2003 to June 2006. He is currently chairman and chief executive officer of Stratex Networks, Inc., a global provider of wireless transmission solutions where he had served as chairman of the board since 1997 and as chief executive officer from 1995 to 2000 and from 2001 to Previously, Mr. Kissner was vice president/general manager of M/A-Com, Inc., a manufacturer of radio and microwave communication products, and president, chief executive officer and a director of Aristacom International, Inc., a communications software company. He was the executive vice president of Fujitsu Network Switching, Inc. and held several key positions at Lucent Technologies. Mr. Kissner serves on the Advisory Board of Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business. Mr. Kissner holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State Polytechnic University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Santa Clara University. Mr. Kissner is a member of the board of directors of ShoreTel, Inc.

Gary Daichendt served as executive vice president of Cisco Worldwide Operations with global responsibility for sales, distribution, manufacturing and strategic alliances. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of worldwide operations and also served as vice president of Cisco's intercontinental operations. Before joining Cisco, Daichendt spent eight years at Wang Laboratories in positions of increasing responsibility. His background also includes time at Nortel Networks as president and chief operating officer and 10 years at IBM in various sales, marketing and management positions.

Kathryn was a founding partner of Foundation Capital. During her nearly 20 years in the venture capital business, Kathryn has worked with talented entrepreneurs to create many market-leading companies, such as Shortel (SHOR), Documentum (DCTM), Grand Junction Networks, Interwoven (IWOV), InternetBrands, Inc.,Rapid City Communications, Primary Access Communications, Applied Digital Access (ADAX), OnStream Networks, and Chordiant Software (CHRD). Kathryn is now investing her own capital in seed stage companies, working closely with a select group of other private investors and entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. While seed stage investing is her primary focus, she will also continue to make venture investments with Foundation Capital. Regularly recognized as one of the most accomplished venture capitalists, Kathryn has been featured on Forbes Magazine's "Midas List" of Tech's Best Venture Investors. In 2005 she received the University of Chicago's Distinguished Entrepreneurial Alumni Award. Prior to founding Foundation Capital in 1995, Kathryn was a General Partner from 1989 onwards with Merrill, Pickard, Anderson & Eyre. Before becoming a venture capitalist, Kathryn distinguished herself in the early 1980s as vice president of marketing at Oracle Corporation during the company's formative years. In the mid-1980s, she founded her own executive search firm, recruiting numerous CEOs and VPs for a host of Valley startups. Earlier, she also held various marketing and engineering positions with Data Systems Design, Gould, Inc. and Bell & Howell. Kathryn currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Chicago, the Investment Committee of the University of Chicago, and is on the Advisory Council of the University of Chicago GSB, where she earned an MBA in 1978. She also holds a BS in Physics from the University of Toronto. Away from work, Kathryn is a serious violinist, painter and pilot. She currently runs the Magnum Opus Project, a foundation that supports composers of classical symphonic and chamber music, and is the patron behind the Music at Kirkwood summer music festival.

Mark Bregman is executive vice president and chief technology officer at Symantec, responsible for the Symantec Research Labs, Symantec Security Response and shared technologies, emerging technologies, architecture and standards, localization and secure coding, and developing the technology strategy for the company. Bregman guides Symantec’s investments in advanced research and is responsible for the company’s development centers in India and China. Additionally, Bregman leads the field technical enablement team, which works closely with the technical sales team to ensure they are prepared to assist customers in managing the impact of changing and emerging technical requirements. Bregman joined Symantec through the company’s merger with Veritas Software, where he served as chief technology officer, responsible for cross-product integration, advanced product development, merger and acquisition strategy, and the company’s engineering development centers in India and China. Prior to joining Veritas, Bregman was CEO of Airmedia, a wireless Internet firm. Previously, Bregman spent 16 years at IBM where he led the RS/6000 and Pervasive Computing divisions and held senior management positions in IBM Research and IBM Japan. He was also technical assistant to IBM CEO Lou Gerstner. Bregman holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Harvard College and a master’s degree and doctorate in physics from Columbia University. He is a member of the Visiting Committee to the Harvard University Libraries, a member of the American Physical Society, and a senior member of IEEE. He also serves on the Board of Directors of ShoreTel and the Bay Area Science and Innovation Consortium.

Prior to joining Taleo, Michael Gregoire served as executive vice president of Global Services for PeopleSoft, an enterprise software company in nearby Pleasanton. Mr. Gregoire has also served as executive director of the EDS New York Information Solutions Organization, based in New York City. The Information Solutions Organization business was a $500M+ in annual revenue unit focused on aligning technology and operations with business strategy. Gregoire has a Master's degree from California Coast University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilfred Laurier University in Ontario, Canada. He has been named one of Consulting Magazine's "Top 25 Most Influential Consultants."
