With over 25 years in the lending field, Mike knows that in addition to product, it takes excellent customer service skills to get the job done in the highly competitive commercial lending environment. Mike has those skills and prides himself on being a hands on lender, sometimes looking for ways to fit a square peg in a round hole. He is an expert in all areas of commercial lending and especially enjoys working in the field to help his customers' businesses flourish.
Sonia is a familiar face to the residents of eastern Connecticut. With almost 35 years in the trust business, she is an expert in Financial Planning and Trust and Estate Planning. Active in community affairs, Sonia received her BS from Eastern Connecticut State University and has earned her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. The Financial Services Group is located on Ledgebrook Drive in Mansfield.
Melissa is joining the mortgage consulting team after almost 15 years in sales and marketing management at the Bank. Her territory surrounds the Bank's Brooklyn and Dayville offices and includes the towns of Killingly, Brooklyn Putnam, Woodstock, Pomfret, Thompson, Eastford and Union. As a life-long resident of Danielson, Melissa understands the needs of those living in the "Quiet Corner" and, with 21 years of banking experience, is capable of advising her clients on every step of the homebuying process. She is very active in the community and currently serves the Town of Killingly as a Board of Recreation Commissioner, member of the First Night Steering Committee. She is also a Board Member of the Quinebaug-Shetucket Heritage Corridor and the ACCESS Agency.

As a lifelong resident of southeastern Connecticut , Paul is an expert on the special needs of the businesses in this region. He began his career in banking back in 1971 and since that time has honed his skills and now prides himself on intuitively knowing how best to fill the needs of his customers. Paul is a 1970 graduate of Central CT State University and a 1982 graduate of the National School of Finance and Management at Fairfield University . He is working out of the Groton office and covers the shoreline region.
Steve came to SIBT in 2004 bringing with him over 24 years of experience lending to the small business market in Western Massachusetts . He is looking forward to utilizing his skills to assist small businesses to grow in North Central Connecticut. In addition to lending, Steve will also be responsible for developing and managing a commercial leasing program for the Bank to add to our portfolio of products to assist our customers. Steve will work out of the Enfield Branch at 85 Freshwater Boulevard .

With over 25 years in the financial services industry, she is conversant in all areas of the banking business. Deb is a licensed SBLI representative and is a Notary Public.
Ed has joined the Bank as Branch Manager of our Enfield Office, bringing almost 20 years of experience in the financial services industry along with him. Ed is ready to sit down to discuss all of your personal and business banking needs. He is also knowledgeable in all types of investment vehicles for individual and corporate accounts and holds his Annuity, Life and Health licenses. He is a member of the North Central Chamber of Commerce, Rotary International and serves on the Board of Trustees of Johnson Memorial Hospital Corporation. He resides with his family in Somers.
Liz began her career in banking in 1974 at the former Union Trust Co. in Groton . Over the years, she has had experience in a number of positions including teller, CSR, and Assistant Branch Manager. Liz joined SIBT in 1997 as Assistant Branch Manager in the Groton Office and was pleased to welcome many of her former customers. Jessica joined SIBT in 2004, bringing with her a strong sales background to her position as Branch Manager of the Lebanon office. Lisa joins SIBT as a seasoned financial services professional with over 20 years of banking and lending experience. Her background includes branch sales, customer service and lending. As manager of the Bank's newest branch office, Lisa will be working with her staff to promote business growth and to build a strong sales team. She is quite active in the community and is a member of the Southeastern CT Women's Network. In 2001, she was recognized for New Haven Business Times Top Forty Under 40 in recognition of professional achievement and community involvement. Lisa is a Notary Public.
Joining SIBT in 2005 with more than 10 years of banking experience and strong ties to the Windham community, Mark has the knowledge and leadership skills needed in our busy Main Office. Mark and his staff are focused on providing excellent customer service and a friendly community bank atmosphere. He is a Licensed SBLI Producer and a Notary Public. Mark spent four years in the Navy and is a Gulf War veteran. He is very active in the Windham Chamber of Commerce and is the Treasurer of the Windham Area No Freeze Shelter.
As a seasoned banking professional with over 18 years of experience, Mona is the perfect choice to lead the SIBT into a new marketplace. With business development as the primary goal, her drive and creativity will be put to good use. Nicole joined SIBT in 2004 with more than 5 years of experience in the banking field. As a lifelong resident of Willimantic, she knows first hand of the financial needs and concerns of her neighbors and customers. Nicole is responsible for managing the daily operations of the branch, developing and motivating her staff, and growing the branch's deposit base and loan portfolio. Nicole is a Notary Public.
Over 45 years in banking makes Pat the ideal manager for the Stonington office where she knows every customer by name. Her brand of customer service is only learned over time and goes back to the days when customers were more than an account balance. She treats every customer as if they were her only one. Pat's other specialty is lending and she is a licensed SBLI representative.
Peggy has almost 25 years in the banking industry. Before joining the SI team, she was employed at one of the larger super-regional banks. Peggy prefers the community bank environment and the opportunity it affords her to spend time with her customers. Peggy is putting her product knowledge to good use in finding solutions to their banking needs. Peggy is a licensed SBLI Representative and a Notary Public.
Clara joined the Savings Institute Bank and Trust in 2000 as a commercial loan administrator. As a commercial loan officer, she now serves customers in Willimantic and the surrounding towns. Her clients appreciate her knowledge of the lending process - right from application throughclosing. Her many years of experience allows her to ask the right questions and gather the right information to expedite the application process.
Kim became a commercial loan officer after more than two years in the commercial lending field. Her experience as a Commercial Loan Administrator and Credit Analyst will be an invaluable asset in assisting her clients in the application and approval process.
With more than 37 years in the financial services industry, Steve's experience was gained at a time when Branch Managers did it all. He is a skilled banking professional with the expertise needed to analyze his clients' needs and match them with a loan product to best meet those needs.
Steve joined the Savings Institute Bank & Trust in 2006 as a commercial loan officer serving commercial clients in the greater Windham and Norwich territories. Steve brings with him knowledge of small business lending and the SBA program. Twenty-eight years of financial and related banking experience provide a strong foundation on which to build banking relationships with his clients.
JoAnn covers mortgage originations on the Connecticut shoreline. With over 35 years in banking, JoAnn, who was named national Rookie Superstar for 2000 by "Mortgage Originator" magazine, is able to provide a wealth of information and advice to her customers. She is knowledgeable in all areas of mortgage lending including conventional, construction, land loans, jumbo and government programs. JoAnn is very active in the community and is a member of the Westerly-Pawcatuck, Mystic and Southeastern Connecticut Chambers of Commerce.
Sharon covers the Hebron branch, the Lebanon branch and the Enfield branch. Her territory includes the seventeen towns surrounding those branches. Sharon has been with the Savings Institute for all of her banking career and has served in a number of capacities from teller to loan servicer. Sharon truly loves her job and finds that she is a born people person. She has been so successful that "Mortgage Originator" magazine named her national Rookie Superstar in 1998.
Steven H. Townsend is a Managing Partner of Northeast Development Company, LLC and Townsend Development Associates, LLC and a member of the Board of Directors of SunOpta, Inc. (NASDAQ: STKL). Mr. Townsend has served in various executive positions, including from 2001 to 2005 as Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer, with United Natural Foods, Inc. (NASDAQ: UNFI), a distributor of natural and organic food and related products located in Dayville, Connecticut. Age 54. Director since 2003.
