Charles Chao has served as a director and Chief Executive Officer since May 2006. Mr. Chao has served as our President since September 2005 and as our Chief Financial Officer from February 2001 to May 2006. Mr. Chao served as our Co-Chief Operating Officer from July 2004 to September 2005. Mr. Chao served as our Executive Vice President from April 2002 to June 2003. From September 1999 to January 2001, Mr. Chao served as our Vice President, Finance. Mr. Chao has played a vital role in building SINA into an Internet media and online advertising giant in China. He is largely responsible in the success of our past mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining us, Mr. Chao served as an experienced audit manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. Prior to that, Mr. Chao was a news correspondent at Shanghai Media Group. Mr. Chao is currently a director of Focus Media, an out-of-home media and advertising network company, NetDragon Websoft Inc., a company providing technology for online gaming, and E-House (China) Holdings Limited, a company providing real estate services and information in China. Mr. Chao holds a Master of Professional Accounting degree from University of Texas at Austin, an M.A. in Journalism from University of Oklahoma and a B.A. in Journalism from Fudan University in Shanghai, China.

Herman Yu has served as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer since August 2007. Mr. Yu has served as our Acting Chief Financial Officer from May 2006 to August 2007 and Vice President and Corporate Controller from September 2004 to May 2006. Prior to joining SINA, Mr. Yu worked at Adobe Systems, as the Corporate Marketing Controller from June 2001 to September 2004 and as the Chief Auditor from January 1999 to May 2001. Mr. Yu also held various finance and accounting management positions at Cadence Design Systems, Inc. and VeriFone, Inc. Mr. Yu began his career with Arthur Andersen and is a California Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Yu holds a Masters of Accountancy from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California. Tong Chen has served as the Company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Editor since February 2007. In 1997, Mr. Chen took part in the founding of SRSnet.com, a division of Beijing Stone Rich Sight Information Technology Co., Ltd. (currently known as Beijing SINA Information Technology Co. Ltd.), one of our subsidiaries, and he formally joined the Company in March 1998. Mr. Chen served as host of our SRSnet.com Sports Salon from April 1997 to August 1998, Chief Editor of our News Center from September 1998 to June 1999, our Content Director from June 1999 to June 2000, Executive Deputy General Manager of our China Operation from June 2000 to May 2002, our Vice President and Chief Editor from May 2002 to November 2003 and our Senior Vice President and Chief Editor from November 2003 to February 2007. Hong Du has served as the Company’s Chief Operating Officer since February 2008. Ms. Du joined the Company in November 1999 and worked in the Business Development department until April 2004. Selected in 1998 by Inter@ctive Week Magazine as one of "Asia's Internet Moguls," Mr. Chiang held the position of Chief Executive Officer at SINANET.com before his election as Chairman. Prior to joining SINANET.com in 1996, he was President of Trend Micro, Inc., an international corporation specializing in Internet virus protection and content security for large enterprises. Under Mr. Chiang's leadership, Trend Micro expanded from a 10-person operation to a multi-national company with more than 200 employees and 1997 revenues of $60 million.
