Board of Directors
Prior to joining Nextel, Mr. Caplan served in progressive engineering, operations, and product development roles with MCI Communications from 1983 to 1995. As a founding member of MCImetro, MCI's CLEC startup, Mr. Caplan oversaw the launch of the company's first services, building out 20 markets. He also authored and delivered significant portions of MCI's testimony in state and federal hearings surrounding the Telecommunications Act of 1996. Mr. Caplan holds a Bachelor of Science (Cum Laude Honors) in Economics, with Computer Science and Mathematics concentrations, from Georgetown University.
Jim Wiseman has served as Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller of SkyTerra Communications Inc. since August 2007. Additionally, he has served as Vice President and Corporate Controller of Mobile Satellite Ventures LP (now SkyTerra LP) since August 2007. From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Wiseman was Vice President and Worldwide Controller of MicroStrategy, Inc., a software developer focused on the Business Intelligence market both in the United States and internationally. Prior to joining MicroStrategy, Mr. Wiseman was Vice President of Corporate Finance of Discovery Communications, a cable television company with multiple networks both in the United States and internationally, including Discovery Channel, TLC, and Animal Planet. Also at Discovery Communications, Mr. Wiseman served as Vice President of Corporate Accounting and Reporting. Mr. Wiseman had a B.A. in Commerce from the University of Virginia and received certification as a public accountant (CPA) in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1991.
Peter D. Karabinis, Ph.D. has served as SkyTerra's (formerly Mobile Satellite Ventures) Senior Vice President and the Chief Technical Officer since April 2001 and is responsible for defining, developing, evaluating, adapting, and implementing all aspects of the company's terrestrial and satellite communications network. Additionally, Dr. Karabinis is responsible for directing SkyTerra's technical regulatory affairs at the Federal Communications Commission. A veteran of more than 30 years in the satellite and telecommunications industries, Dr. Karabinis previously directed Ericsson's research and development for mobile satellite terminals from 1993 to 2001 and served as principal engineer and technical manager for satellite systems at Raytheon from 1986 to 1993. Prior to that, he was a member of the technical staff for 10 years at Bell Telephone Laboratories. Throughout his career, Dr. Karabinis has been involved in the development and granting of more than 45 telecommunications patents. Dr. Karabinis has also taught and served on the faculties of several distinguished institutions including Worcester Polytechnic Institute, University of Lowell, Northeastern University and The City College of New York. Dr. Karabinis holds a doctorate, master's degree and a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from The City College of New York.
Scott Macleod has served as MSV's Executive Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer since January 2006. On December 18, 2006 Mr. Macleod was named Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of SkyTerra Communications, Inc. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Macleod was Managing Director responsible for Rothschild's North American Telecom practice. Prior to joining Rothschild, Mr. Macleod was Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Development Officer of XO Communications and had previously been Managing Director and founding member of Merrill Lynch's Global Communications Group.
Marc Montagner has been the Executive Vice President of Strategy, Development and Distribution for SkyTerra since February 2009. He is responsible for business strategy, the development of strategic relationships and the distribution of SkyTerra's products and services. Mr. Montagner has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the telecommunications industry and in the finance industry where he had a number of key operating roles. Prior to joining SkyTerra, Mr. Montagner was Managing Director and Co-Head of the Global Telecom, Media and Technology Merger and Acquisition Group at Banc of America Securities. Previously, Mr. Montagner was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Nextel, and then Sprint Nextel. Prior to Nextel, Marc was a Managing Director in the Telecom and Media Group at Morgan Stanley. Marc started his career in the telecom industry at France Telecom where, in his last position, he was responsible for strategy and development in North America. Mr. Montagner holds a Master in Business Administration degree, with specialization in finance, from Columbia University, and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications in Paris, France.

Randy S. Segal has served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of SkyTerra Communications Inc. since April 2008. Additionally, she has served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Mobile Satellite Ventures LP (now SkyTerra LP) since September 2004. Prior to her current position, Ms. Segal was Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Hughes Network Systems (HNS), a subsidiary of The DirecTV Group. Additionally, Ms. Segal served on the HNS International Subsidiary Board of Directors. She has also served on the Board of Directors of XM Satellite Radio (NASDAQ: XMSR) and MSV. Prior to May 2001, Ms. Segal was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Motient Corp., a mobile internet and satellite communications company, with responsibility for strategic oversight of its merger, acquisition and financing activities, as well as all legal matters. Ms. Segal led Motient's spin-off of two new ventures: XM Satellite Radio and MSV. Ms. Segal is a graduate of Columbia Law School where she was a Kent Scholar. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Cornell University, where she was a Ford Foundation Research Grant recipient and National Honor Scholar. Ms. Segal practiced with the New York corporate law firm of Debevoise & Plimpton prior to joining Motient in 1992. She also served as a Federal Law Clerk in the U.S. District Court, the Southern District of New York, as well as in the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Ms. Segal teaches "Corporation Acquisitions" as an Adjunct Law Professor at George Mason Law School. She is also a frequent speaker on diverse business-legal topics for Georgetown Law School, the Association of Corporate Counsel (formerly, ACCA) and the American Conference Institute. Ms. Segal is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the National Association of Corporate Directors and the President's Council of Cornell Women.

Andrew D. Africk has served as a Director since November 2001 and serves as a member of the audit committee and as chairman of the compensation committee. Mr. Africk is a partner at Apollo Advisors LP, which he joined in 1992. Gips has served as a Director since May 2002 and is a member of the audit committee. Mr. Leddy currently serves as a director of SkyTerra Communications, Inc. since December 2006, and had previously served as its Chief Executive Officer and President from April 2003 until December 2006, as its President and Chief Operating Officer from October 2002 to April 2003, and as its Senior Vice President of Operations from June 2002 to October 2002. Mr. Leddy is currently Chief Executive Officer of HUGHES Telematics, Inc. a position he has held on a salaried basis since December 2006. From June 2005 to February 2006, Mr. Leddy served as President of Hughes Communications, Inc. and from November 2005 to February 2006 as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Leddy also served as President of Miraxis LLC from January 2001 through September 2005. Mr. Leddy worked at EMS Technologies from 1980 to 2000 and held a number of engineering and management positions there, including serving as the President of EMS's operating unit from 19 93 to 1998. Since September 2006, Mr. Weiner has served as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel of Ares Management, Inc., a private investment management firm. From 1992 until August 2006, Mr. Weiner served as the General Counsel of Apollo Management, L.P. Before joining Apollo in 1992, Mr. Weiner was a partner with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, specializing in securities law, public and private financings, and corporate and commercial transactions. Mr. Weiner is also a director of Hughes Communications, Inc., SkyTerra Communications, Inc., and Goodman Global Holdings, Inc.
William F. Stasior is 67 years old and has served as a member of the Board of Directors since March 1998.
Since October 1999, he has served as senior chairman of Booz Allen. From 1991 to 1999, he served as Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer of Booz Allen. Mr. Stasior currently serves on the Board of Directors of SkyTerra
