Smithfield Foods is a pork processor and hog producer. As of Apr 27 2008, Co. had five segments: Pork, which produces fresh pork and packaged meats products such as loins, butts, picnics, ribs, smoked and boiled hams, bacon, sausage, hot dogs, and ready-to-eat, prepared foods; International, which includes its meat processing and distribution operations in Poland, Romania and the U.K.; Hog Production, which includes its hog production operations in the U.S., Poland and Romania as well as its interests in hog production operations in Mexico; Other, which includes its turkey production and hatchery operations; and Corporate, which provides management and administrative services.
