Dow Jones Description
The company announces that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Chas. Levy Circulating Co., one of the principal magazine wholesalers in the United States. The acquisition was completed on May 10, 2005. The acquisition, combined with Source Interlink's recent merger with Alliance Entertainment, significantly strengthens its position as a full-service provider of home entertainment content products for the retail industry. The company required a greater critical mass and a broader base in magazine distribution in the retail marketplace, an expanded "in the field" merchandising team to service all of our products, and mass market book distribution capabilities. This transaction accomplishes all of the above. Source Interlink completes its merger agreement with Alliance Entertainment Corp., originally announced in November 2004.
