David P. Knight, M.D. Surgical Pathology Dr. Knight is an assistant professor of pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is medical director of the blood bank at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City. Dr. Knight is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology, and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. He received his M.D. from the University of Utah School of Medicine. Joseph A. Knight, M.D. V.P., Clinical Pathology, Chemistry Dr. Knight is currently Professor of Pathology and Head, Division of Education, University of Utah School of Medicine. He previously served as Director, Clinical Pathology at the University of Utah Medical Center and was the first Director of ARUP Laboratories. He later served as Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Salt Lake VAMC. Dr. Knight is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He is a fellow of the American Society of Clinical Patholgists, College of American Pathologists, National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry and is a member of the Association of Clinical Scientists, American Association of Clinical Chemistry, Society for Free Radicals in Biology and Medicine, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Knight received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry at Brigham Young University and his M.D. from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He also completed his residency in anatomic/clinical pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Knight received the American Society for Clinical Pathology's Ward Burdick Award for Contributions to Pathology, and has authored more than 100 publications as well as three books and has co-authored on one book, now in its third edition.

Dr. Michael A. Belfort received his medical degree from the University of Witwaterstand Medical School (UWMS) in Johannesburg, South Africa, his postgraduate Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and his Ph.D. from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. He completed Internships in General Surgery and Internal Medicine at UWMS. Dr. Belfort completed Residencies in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cape Town Medical School in South Africa and at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed a Fellowship at Baylor in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Belfort is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Maternal-Fetal Medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Utah. He is the author of Hypertension in Pregnancy as well as being a well-regarded speaker, author, and researcher.

Dr. Steven L. Clark received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, and completed an Internship and Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Southern California (USC) Medical Center. He completed a Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at USC School of Medicine. Dr. Clark is the Medical Director of Perinatal Medicine for HCA nationally and is professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Utah. Dr. Clark is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in OB/GYN and in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine subspecialty. Dr. Clark has been named among the top 10% of experts for the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, has been named annually from 1992 to present as one of the "Best Doctors in America," and was named in the top 5% of special expert peer reviewers for the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is an editorial consultant for 14 scholarly medical journals in the United States. He has authored more than 170 scientific papers and authored or edited eight textbooks in critical care obstetrics.

Christopher Cheyer, MD is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He is board certified and fellowship trained in the areas of ophthalmic trauma and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Cheyer is the chief of ophthalmology at Detroit Receiving Hospital and the director of ophthalmic trauma for the Kresge Eye Institute. He attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio for medical school and ophthalmology residency training.

David Juan, MD is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology & Metabolism. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. He was formerly on the faculty at Norwestern Medical School, Department of Medicine, and has also worked in the biopharmaceutical industry where he has been responsible for the development of drugs for treating hypertension, stroke, benign prostatic hypertrophy, erectile dysfunction, and osteoporosis. He has written extensively in the area of nutrition, endocrinology, pain relief, and rationale therapeutics.

Elizabeth S. Smoots, MD is a board certified family physician based in Seattle, Washington. A Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Smoots specializes in prevention and primary care medicine. She has over 20 years of experience in the medical field in private practice, health maintenance organizations, and various group-practice clinics around the Seattle area.

Hassan Rastegar, MD is a Senior Surgeon in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Rastegar is also an Associate Professor at the Tufts University School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Pahlavi University Medical School in Shiraz, Iran, and completed post-graduate training at the University of Pennsylvania and Northwestern University. Dr. Rastegar's clinical specialties include coronary artery surgery, complex valve replacement and repairs, minimally invasive heart surgery, and heart transplantation. He holds board certification from the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Surgery, and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

Janet H. Greenhut, MD, MPH is board certified in public health/general preventive medicine. She completed her residency in preventive medicine at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Greenhut has 20 years of experience in clinical preventive medicine and primary care, and is now working as medical researcher for HealthMedia, Inc. in Ann Arbor, Michigan. At HealthMedia, Dr. Greenhut has contributed to computer-tailored health behavior change and disease management programs in areas such as smoking cessation, weight management, hypertension, diabetes, pain, substance abuse, heart disease, and stress management.
