In August 2008, Dick was appointed Executive Vice President for Steelmaking and President and Chief Operating Officer of Steel Operations. He is now responsible for all of the company's steelmaking operations, including the Flat Roll Division, Structural and Rail Division, Engineered Bar Products Division, Roanoke Bar Division, The Techs, and Steel of West Virginia Inc.
In April 2007 Dick became an executive vice president overseeing the company's four long-products steelmaking divisions and the steel fabricating business, New Millennium Building Systems.
In 1998, Dick initiated the planning for construction of SDI's structural-steel mill at Columbia City, Indiana. From 1998 to 2007, he managed the construction, start-up and operation of the structural mill and is responsible for its commercial success and growth. The Structural and Rail Division has grown to become a major part of Steel Dynamics and a major supplier of wide-flange beams in North America. A major expansion project is underway to double the division's production capacity.
One of the founders of Steel Dynamics, Dick has served on the board of directors since the company’s inception and is a major shareholder. Dick has also served as president of the Association of Iron and Steel Technology (AIST).
Dick earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College and a master's in business administration from Duquesne University.
Dick began his career with a 10-year stint at J&L Steel (later LTV Steel), serving in positions of increasing responsibility in the engineering, maintenance, and production areas in several of the company's plants.
In 1987, Dick joined Nucor Corporation as engineering manager at Crawfordsville, Indiana, where he was given broad responsibility for the design and construction of the new thin-cast-slab facility. He was one of the first managers hired by Keith Busse, future SDI chairman and CEO. Dick managed the design and construction process, with the additional responsibility for ensuring environmental and other standards were met during the development and construction phases.
In 1991, Dick assumed responsibility for the cold-rolling and finishing operations at Crawfordsville. He was also directly responsible for the construction of Nucor's galvanizing line at Crawfordsville.
When SDI was formed, Dick became vice president and manager of rolling and finishing at the new Butler, Indiana, flat-roll mill, with responsibilities initially for the hot-rolling and engineering departments. Later, he managed the construction and operation of the cold-rolling and galvanizing facilities.

Barry was named vice president and general manager of the Engineered Bar Products Division at Pittsboro, Indiana, in 2007.
Since 2003, Barry had served as manager of the Flat Roll Division’s cold-finishing mill. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and has held a variety of engineering, supervisory, and management positions since he joined the company in 1995 as a mechanical engineer.
Bert Hollman is president of New Millennium Building Systems and a vice president of Steel Dynamics, Inc. New Millennium manufactures joists, girders, trusses, and steel decking for non-residential buildings at five locations in the Midwest and eastern United States. Bert's career in the joist business began in engineering with a major national manufacturer in 1966, and he became the plant's engineering manager in 1975. He then served as sales manager from 1982 through 1987. In 1987, he was appointed general manager of the company's new metal building venture and oversaw the start-up of that business. In 1990, Bert and his sons formed a new business, Service Steel Framing, Inc., a structural-steel fabricator based in Butler, Indiana. In the fall of 1998, Bert accepted a new challenge from his longtime colleague, Keith Busse, who had founded Steel Dynamics, to develop a plan to create a new building-systems enterprise. In the fall of 1999, New Millennium Building Systems was formed and jointly owned by Steel Dynamics, New Process Steel, and a management team that Bert recruited. Bert became New Millennium's president. The company began production at its first plant at Butler early in 2000. In March of 2003, Steel Dynamics bought out its partners, and New Millennium became a wholly owned subsidiary of Steel Dynamics under Bert's leadership. One year later, Bert was named a vice president of Steel Dynamics. In 2004, New Millennium announced plans to build a second fabrication plant in Lake City, Florida. The Lake City facility began operations in the spring of 2005. In April of 2006, Steel Dynamics acquired Roanoke Electric Steel Corporation and, with it, three joist-manufacturing operations: John W. Hancock, Inc. in Salem, Virginia; and two Socar plants, one in Continental, Ohio, and the other in Florence, South Carolina. These three operations have become part of New Millennium Building Systems, and under Bert's management, are being expanded and modernized to create a network of joist-and-decking manufacturing operations serving the eastern half of the United States.
Glenn was named vice president and general manager of the Flat Roll Division at Butler, Indiana, in 2007.
Since 2003, Glenn had served as vice president and general manager of the Engineered Bar Products Division. His task there was to lead the team refurbishing the existing bar mill at Pittsboro, Indiana, that Steel Dynamics had acquired out of bankruptcy. The start-up of the business, which included product development and establishing a customer base, as well as updating and operating the mill, was very successful. By the end of 2006, the mill was operating at essentially full capacity, providing high-quality carbon and alloyed SBQ steels to a variety of industrial customers in the nation’s heartland.
From 1997 to 2003, Glenn served as manager of the cold-finishing mill at the Flat Roll Division. He joined Steel Dynamics as a mechanical engineer in 1994 and was involved with the engineering and construction of the flat-roll mill. Prior to that, he worked for Nucor Corp. and LTV.
Glenn earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology from Purdue University.
