William Eaglstein is currently Vice President, Pipeline Development and Scientific Affairs of Stiefel Laboratories, Inc., and Chairman Emeritus, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. After his retirement from the University of Miami in 2003, he became President of IVAX Dermatologicals, Inc. (formerly Baker-Cummins), where he brought three novel dermatologic products to market in two years. He was involved in every aspect of the business from licensing, formulation and production to labeling, packaging, distribution and marketing. He trained a 260-person sales force and worked closely with legal and regulatory consultants to develop the regulatory basis for marketing a dietary supplement and a combination DESI drug. During this time he also led the continued development of a novel, topical anti-inflammatory drug, successfully obtaining FDA approval for phase III testing.
