Sturm, Ruger & Company is principally engaged in the design, manufacture, and sale of firearms to domestic customers. Co.'s firearm products are grouped into four categories: rifles, which include single-shot, auto loading, and lever action; shotguns, which include over and under, and side by side; pistols, which include rimfire autoloading, and centerfire autoloading; and revolvers, which include single action, and double action. Co.'s firearms are sold through independent wholesale distributors, primarily to the commercial sporting market. Co. also manufactures and sells investment castings made from steel alloys for both outside customers and internal use in its firearms segment.
